My idea would keep the gritty/kinda realistic aspect of Nolan's but change the era.

I would have it set in an art deco type of manhattan.

Examples would be that recent king kong movie, dikk Tracey, batman animated series look.

Everyone in top hats old style vehicles etc etc.

I would cast that dude from mad men as batman.

Instead of fox I would replace him with nikola tesla.

The story would be about a CIA/mafia war and conspiracy with the mob being taken over by a failed experiment by Hugo strange.

A new mind control brainwashing technique that goes wrong that indirectly creates a skitzo/bipolar individual who expresses his anger thru a dummy by the name of scarface.

I would also throw in Rupert Thorne who was a crime boss in the animated series as the political angel in the story who is attempting to run for governor against the penguin.

I would have batman doing real detective work as well.

Sounds like a Mad Men movie. I think it'd be a good movie idea, but not necessarily a good Batman idea.

I won't say one was better than the other but I preferred Bane. Joker seemed very non threatening to me after watching this.

Joker was out there playing games but Bane was out there fukking shyt up. Ledger played the fukk outta the joker role but Bane I was straight shook the whole movie when Bane showed up I knew some shyt was bout to pop off.

Just went to see this last night. It was really just alright too me. The thing that threw me off was some of the lines were just so corny. Its like they really could have written way better lines for these characters. Like when catwoman shoots bane, and than says "you know that no gun thing.... im really not sure if i feel as strongly about that as you do" its like she coulda said a classic one line right there. than when batman confronts bane the last time and says "im not here to save the city, im here to stop you" or somethin like that, its just like "where is the witty dialogue?" so much of the dialogue was just dry. I did like how banes plan came together and how he took over the city, but even that seemed unexplained and unplausible, how the backup army was just sittin there scared to cross the bridge, also was bane going to kill himself with the bombs explosion as well? what was the point in that? and also the whole prison thing just seemed kinda half explained to me, and how is it that they are meant to suffer down there but they had a plasma tv hooked up wit cable? that was better than most fed prisons. theres just too much shyt im on the fence about with this movie. Like i said it was ok but yall hypin it WAY too much. theres litterally no action for the first hour outside of banes intro. I dunno man, maybe i need to see it again but right now im a little underwhelmed from what i was hoping for. And batmans epic return was not epic at all, and bruce was not resistant enough to become batman again. Once again it seems as if batman played a backseat in his own movie.

Bane was

..but lets not pretend now that Joker didn't put in some work. He took out made men, politicians, had the mafia  to him and he killed the love of Batman's life.. plus, drove harvey dent insane.

:ohhh:
glad tbey changed that...

whaa gwannnn batman :childplease:

:russ: omg that was funny...

Pros
- Bane's dialogue...the was also alot of subtle shyt in his lines as well. Like him talking to the scientist and saying "by my calculations....(the bomb would explode in 5 months)

- The passage of time....i was like :mindblown: to some idiot girl in the theater was like "Its snowing now?".....Bruce was in that pit for like 90 days.

- The notion that being Batman was destroying his body. Again a subtle subplot that i don't think the average viewer thought about through the film. Robin becoming the new batman HAD to happen. Not cuz he wanted it to...but because Batman is more important than Bruce or Robin or Gordon...Batman is an idea.

- the fact i ACTUALLY got to see Bane "break" Batman...

- Everytime Anne Hathaway was on my screen....that first fight scene with her droppin nikkas in the bar...then dropping down screaming...:whoo: priceless...its not often you see characters film subtly use "white woman in distress" as a tool in such a way it was great.

Cons

- i coulda used more Alfred personally....

- A more intense montage of Bruce training woulda made that passage of time seem more realistic. It to some people seemed like he attached him to a rope and in 3 days he was all good.

- Robin's take on the batsuit...the Suit defines each respective batman...even if it was just a glimpse i woulda liked to have seen how it would have looked.

- Bane's body count....dude killed ALOT MORE people than the joker did with the bombs and the bridges....however it didn't FEEL like it...partially because we didnt get any development of anyone he kills. Joker FELT like he killed more or was more evil because the people he killed were SHOWN to us as in his way...or totally innocent and in his way....or something he wanted to do for the lulz. Bane was such a mastermind that it kinda took away from the fact that he took Gotham over for half a year.

that monologue in front of the jail though :win:

Incredible movie. First time i have seen a movie where i felt like defeat was inevitable for the hero. Bane had the theatre shook, felt like i was watching the face of evil.

I won't say one was better than the other but I preferred Bane. Joker seemed very non threatening to me after watching this.

They're very different villains. But also both very similar. Joker wanted to pretend like he didn't have a plan, but he did, it was just dark and twisted. He really was an agent of chaos as he said too. He was kind of a walking contradiction. He definitely didn't seem as threatening to me either. He was scary in that he was unpredictable.

Bane was scary as fukk because even though he was physically menacing and was nice with the hands, (seriously, he had good technique, especially with his body shots), he was also smart and had planned everything out so far in advance. Not only that, but he fukked with the citizens the whole time, inciting anarchy, while planning to nuke the entire fukking city.

In many ways, I think Bane accomplished true anarchy in a way that Joker never was able to do. I know the movie was long but I would have liked to see one or two shots of how the regular citizens were treating each other a few months into the siege of the city.

I liked how Bane was always holding onto his vest. It was very military-esque. Lots of French Revolution references in his speeches too. He seemed like a dictator.
