I love that they had him fail and have to build himself back up several times. There were actually gasps in my theater and someone said "what the fukk?" the first time he falls. Obviously we know he's gonna get out eventually but having him not make it a few times first at least puts a tiny bit of doubt in there and makes it feel all the more triumphant when he actually does.
"Why do we fall, Bruce?"
This is exactly where Nolan shines. This is how you humanize your superhero, make him feel failure like everyone else. But rise to the occasion when all chips are against you. That emotion in that made dude say "what the fukk" tells you how attached we were in that theater. Fellas, I am telling you I have not felt this satisfied over a film in a long time.
