I've just never been in a SUV and thought to myself "Column Shifter" :scust:

Eh, lots of people wouldn't think twice about it. Its a simple control interface that an untrained monkey can operate...maybe that's the reason they still use it. Still doesn't belong in the Escalade/ Yukon Denali....Suburban/Tahoe, maybe. It's a peeve of mine, tho. Details like that irk me....like the useless headrests in the back of crew cab GM trucks. They won't stay in a raised position and the occupant's head will go thru the rear window if the truck has been rear-ended. The seat backs are also too short for adults....been like that for at least 3 generations. Ford, Ram, Toyota, Nissan all have high seat backs with large headrests for adults. One of several reasons why I wouldn't buy a GM truck even though a GMC Sierra Denali is the best looking truck in my opinion.

LINCOLN PUSH BUTTON SHIFTER IS A NICE COMPROMISE FOR THE SHIFTER PROBLEM. AFTER YOU GET USED TO IT, IT DOESN'T FEEL SO BAD.

I WOULDN'T MIND SEEING SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN THE CADDY TRUCK.

GM peeped game and realized they could position their SUVs as the flagships of the lineups, instead of trying to compete with large sedans.

With American's obsession with large, so many people are more enticed by a large, luxury SUV than an equal sedan offering by one of the Europeans of Japanese.

Also, in regards to the size. Forget sedans. Even the similarly priced luxury SUVs are nowhere near as big. And their cost of living with is so much lower. On top of that, the Chevy SUVs have a well earned, sterling reputation for lasting long.

Basically, they have no competitors and customer loyalty.

And they've got the market cornered at an even higher level by selling you the same joint three different ways.
Those Suburbans and Escalades are the new limousines.

The exterior design on the 07-13 Suburban/Yukon/Escalades were much better...the rear on them new shyts make em look like Stretch Limo Hearses at a distance.

Yeah I can't get over the hearse look, the only ones that manage to avoid that look are the Yukon Denali and Escalade.

Back ends are equal, 2017 (gray) front end is way better
