Once the price of a loaded Tahoe went over 70k I thought they lost their fawking minds, but apparently people are still buying them in droves. They do ride nice though.
Yeah, its crazy that GM is legit in 2005 mode with these vehicles. At least they have the acadia for a smaller cost version. Even ford is bringing back the bronco :wow:

The next generation of Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade better be unibody and independent rear end so that they can fix those fuked up third row seats. Makes no sense for a full size truck to have adults sitting on the floor with their knees in their chests. The old and upcoming Expedition had/has the best third row....almost the same space and sitting position as the second row.
Also, they need to get rid of that old ass column shifter....wack in an Escalade.

GM peeped game and realized they could position their SUVs as the flagships of the lineups, instead of trying to compete with large sedans.

With American's obsession with large, so many people are more enticed by a large, luxury SUV than an equal sedan offering by one of the Europeans of Japanese.

Also, in regards to the size. Forget sedans. Even the similarly priced luxury SUVs are nowhere near as big. And their cost of living with is so much lower. On top of that, the Chevy SUVs have a well earned, sterling reputation for lasting long.

Basically, they have no competitors and customer loyalty.

And they've got the market cornered at an even higher level by selling you the same joint three different ways.

I was surprised to see that in the suburban, agreed.

Those aren't in the same market segment, the Tahoe is a full size SUV built on a their pick up truck platform. The SUV's you listed are crossovers and a lot smaller in comparison.

Yeah, they know they have the full-size SUV market cornered and there's no competition. There's no way a GMC Yukon SLT (the top Yukon trim besides the Denali) shouldn't come with HID headlights standard. You have to jump to the $72k plus Denali to get HID headlights :mindblown:

Hopefully the new generation Expedition (which actually looks promising) and the upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer can give some needed competition in this segment because as much as I loved my Tahoe I think GM is feeling themselves a little too much.

I DON'T LIKE COLUMN SHIFTERS BUT THEY DO FREE UP TONS OF CENTER CONSOLE SPACE.

Exactly... It's not like you are shifting gears yourself in a full size truck so it's better if it gives you more room

There are more elegant ways of doing it, tho bruh. If I'm paying nearly $100k for an Escalade, I don't want to see that 80's column shifter that's shared with a contractor grade Silverado WT. Mercedes uses an small, elegant column shifter on most of their cars and trucks. Many are moving to dial shifters. Lincoln has been using push buttons. Then there's the low grade leather, cheap plastic, and lack of some lux features, but that's another discussion...

You make great points, man. The GM triplets enjoy that position mainly because they are one of only two large wagon type vehicles that can haul up to 8 people + luggage AND tow like 8-9k pounds. The Expedition has way better interior packaging and space, but I don't understand why they aren't more popular (besides being an ancient platform). As I said earlier, GM needs to ditch the body-on-frame and go unibody for better space. Like you said, the new Expedition/ Nav looks great and hopefully will provide some needed competition.
Also agree that GM trucks are the worst when it comes to convenience options for the money....$70k Sierra Denali but no push button start, passive entry, heated rear seats or climate control for rear seats? Garbage

I've just never been in a SUV and thought to myself "Column Shifter" :scust:
