It’s Fightful so take it with a grain of salt.
I think I get where trips is going with Melo, but even Reddit is starting to complain about melo’s booking now..
what you think the plan is
I think it's basically young athletically gifted man keeps floundering because he lets his cockiness get in the way, until he gets that cockiness "humbled" out of him, and that's when he starts winning and reaching his potential..
I understand Melo's booking as being the young guy that keeps overstepping his boundaries and gets humbled on the big stage. At least he is getting quality tv time against good vets and looking good in the ring. They eventually need to give him a solid feud against a quality mid carder again because he can sell the crowd as a heel already.I think it's basically young athletically gifted man keeps floundering because he lets his cockiness get in the way, until he gets that cockiness "humbled" out of him, and that's when he starts winning and reaching his potential..
Hmm wouldn't that upend a lot of his catchphrases and persona like "Melo don't miss" and the Barbershop talks and hanging jerseys in the rafters etc?

Makes you wonder what Hunter originally had planned for the Melo Lashley program that was replaced by the best of 7.I understand Melo's booking as being the young guy that keeps overstepping his boundaries and gets humbled on the big stage. They did the “Humbled” thing the first time he lost the Intercontinental ChampionshipIs Bron Breakker not the young guy overstepping his boundaries... why hasn't he been "humbled" yet?
Melo been wrestling for years and Bron literally just started. The premise of the storyline makes sense until you compare how two men who were looked at as equals in NXT are treated on the main roster
