So far all you’re doing is telling me you think triple h is racist as if I’m saying he’s not. I’m not. I literally don’t care about triple h to the point where his death would mean more to yall than it would me. Nobody is defending that man or saying he is or isn’t anything. I’m just asking what they did to Melo that yall think is racist, and so far the average answer is that he lost some matches and Bron Breakker be winning. If that’s your final answer then cool, I won’t disagree. I think it’s not very grounded since a lot of people lose, some have made a career out of it… but if that’s how you feel I ain’t gon tell ya you wrong.

A lot of people lose but zero black men in PLE matches last year :manny: It's a pattern.. whether it's Lashley, Swerve, Tez, Melo... none of these men can get a push under Hunter? :manny:

Lol I just read this. We’re having two different conversations which is usual when I talk to you to be honest.. you one of them gaslighty Joe Budden nikkas when it comes to trying to have a grounded conversation lol

I asked what they did to Melo that ya’ll consider racist and I’m asking genuinely because I really don’t know and stopped watching wrestling a few months ago. Maybe the nikka c00ning and going by jigaboo jones or something, I don’t know. I’m waiting on ya’ll to tell me

Melo’s been treated like a bum since joining the main roster. meanwhile others called up at the same time as him, who don’t share the same skin tone, are doing well. The optics don’t look good, especially with someone as talented as Melo. I don’t know how you can’t see that. :dwillhuh:

What is the correct way of spelling the character's name? I toss "El Grande Americano" in Google Translate and it translates without a problem. Of course, I know that isn't a completely flawless translator, but I don't know Spanish well enough to know any better.
If the point is to do a spoof/comedy gimmick, giving Gable a nonsensical name like "El Grande Americano" makes sense.

There is no correct way to translate that because it's nonsense. "Grande" is a word used to describe size and/or actions, not people. The literal way would be to call him "El Gran Americano" but at best that's a nickname that would used be in between someone's name. Like, call him Chad "El Gran Americano" Gable.

Tbh, "El Americano" would be the best name. Using a qualifer like "Grande/Gran" adds absolutely nothing. And if you wanted to give it a qualifier, using "Gigante" would make the most sense. Both in an ironic/comedic way and because it would make more sense in spanish. No one uses "gran" or "grande" when referring to people unless it's some historical figure :heh: in south america we use "grande" sometimes to refer to someone that did an awesome job, normally in coloquial terms or in sports.

Negativity (Kayfabe)

I do think it’s possible that they just like Bron lol.. He has muscles, runs freakishly fast, is believable when he talks and is a Steiner. I don’t think they looked him and said “he’s white! Let’s push him to hurt Carmelo” but what tf do I know..

That wasn't the "take" though was it?

Doesn’t that imply one is being pushed because he white?

:dead:
This is a good point.

But, you're missing the context of people making every argument against Melo by pointing out his perceived shortcomings instead of his booking by Laveck.

People are bringing up stuff directly related to his booking (outside of his size) and it's fair to bring up NXT call-ups who've been booked much better.

I just think Laveck has a "type" and Bron fits the "WWE Family" prototype.

You got people saying BS like "Well, he's paying his dues" when Melo has been in the WWE bubble as long as any of the other NXT callups.

shyt, Cody was a fukking Jobber and Randy just basically called him the GOAT of this gen. That's directly related to both of their relationship grounded in both being WWE nepo-babies.

shyt, I'm sure Jacob Henry is gonna get pushed well.

serious conversation gonna be made once more if DRAGUNOV returns and wins the ic title lol
We gonna push this can down the road until it's "Well, Melo's been their 5 years...he's too old" ?

You’re right and there’s only a few windows where you can elevate someone, I was reminded of that when Cedric Alexander talked about when he was Roman’s friend that one raw episode. There was a window where he could’ve been something after that. Same with post hurt business but Vince decided against it.

Carmelo window was after the 7 match series to win the US title and grow with that, and Levesque decided against it and gave it to one of the worst wrestlers on the roster in nakamura. Now he’s Miz sidekick while Miz is at the lowest he’s been since 05, ideally it’s the catalyst for a face turn and he can move on quickly but if not, window #2 closed. If

Nah I get you, the thing about these conversations that throw me off about the comparisons to Bron is really just the racial component. I also haven’t watched recently though, so I’m sure I’m missing lots of context.. but when I WAS watching, I saw Triple h failing a lot of dudes who were capable of so much more, and many of them dudes were white, Hispanic, etc.

Andrade was a big FA signing and was really not doing anything. Dragon Lee is capable of so much more and he’s a lackey to Rey. Austin Theory had a face of the company trajectory under Vince, but Trips completely destroyed that and turned him into a complete bum. Dudes like Dom being a male valet when he’s the most popular youngin in that company and a nepo baby is nuts to me.. and then we got vets like AJ styles and Sheamus who could and would be major players anywhere else (AEW) right now, being fed to Logan Paul types and/or not being used.

There’s so many people, both guys snd girls who deserve better.. and of course we have black dudes like the street profits who should be tag champs but really aren’t on shyt. It’s a lot of that too. I just have a hard time personally saying Melo isn’t world champion right now specifically because he’s black and Triple H hate nikkas. If he wasn’t making equal pay to his peers or something, I’d roll with that.. but if he’s just in the same position as 90% of his coworkers in that he’s probably not being used the best currently, I’m not ready to be like “it’s because he’s black!” I think the booking just might suck lol

I’m not saying anyone is wrong though. I think yall kinda getting lost in the sauce tho and letting emotion get the best of ya lol

If you look at any one black male wrestler you can accept that there might be something going one with that person that makes them not a viable pick to run with the ball.

But you telling me NONE of these black men are excellent enough to grasp the fundamentals of wrestling when we dominate literally anything else in any field that we aren't explicitly blocked from even entering in a meaningful way?

Ah yes
I almost forgot
FEAR

I gave em 2 years and then I just started to lose interest, especially after Swerve/Bobby/Montez/Ricochet/Carmelo have all been used terribly. I mean motherfukking OMOS is right there and they don't do shyt with him. I don't have much hope for Oba, Trick, or JeVon. I haven't watched a show in the new year at all.
