Seems like the only sh1t that gets to me is shyt that could really happen ala texas chainsaw, the hills, or Religious sh1t like The exorcist, stigmata, the prophecy and hellraiser

word and thats reason why insidious did it for me was the fact over the conjuring... in insidious they actually showed the demon after vividly describing astral projection and demonic possesion in detail...now darth maul look aside..the demon was doing and saying very :demonic: shyt...and because of that movie i never want to hear tiny tim tiptoe by the window song ever again

I saw this last night. I'm glad I didn't read this thread first and get my expectations up even more than they were based on reviews I read.

This shyt was okay...kinda disappointing based on my expectations.

:beli:@anybody calling this a classic. It had its moments, but haunted house/demonic possession movies have been done to death so much, the shock value is gone. There wasn't one thing original about this movie.

-House haunted by demons
-Female demonic/ghost character
-Demonic possession and an exorcism performed
-Paranormal investigators helping a haunted family
-The Catholic church, crosses, and holy water
-Loud noises and stuff falling off walls and flying around
-Children able to see spirits that adults can't
-Demons kills or hurts a dog
-Birds flying into windows and dying.
-Secret room in a house no one knew about discovered.
-People piece together a back story of violent history in the house.

It was executed well, but we've seen this movie before. Comparing this to The Exorcist is blasphemous. It actually started off with me thinking it was going to be scarier than it was because that doll was creepy as fukk.

They already okayed a sequel, btw.

When it comes to pure entertainment value Drag Me to Hell is still the best horror movie of the last 10 years.

I think when it comes to sh1t that wants to really frighten me, and sh1t thats just pure entertainment, i just take that as that, films like GUMMO and sh1t about how fukked up people can be, are the most scary, one hour photo still creeps me out because of how real it seemed and how i as a person could actually see a bit of myself in the sy character

One film that was a dissapointment but had all the opportunity to be as fukked and scary was the cell where JLO enters the mind of a serial killer

but then again it depends on what you consider scary, I got arachnophobia so i cant sit through that flick either, like i cant sit through this one drama flick called "not without my daughter" where you see spousal abuse, men beating up on women, I dont know if its the feeling of not being able to do anything about it or watching the abuse take place that makes me not want to sit through sh1t like that (I actually got sick to my stomach watching this scene where the father drags the mother into the room while the daughter is watching and crying while his family is trying to take her to the front room and you hear the husband beating the sh1t out of his wife and the kid crying), yeah like i said when they make things "real" its a bit much for me

Just saw it tonight, sold out showing. Was pretty good overall, though I thought the ending seemed rushed. They definitely set themselves up for a sequel, so it better tie up some of the lose ends. It was a creepy movie though, there was a lot of good misdirection too which I enjoyed. Hide and clap was freaky as fukk. I was more scared of that lil boy than anyone.

Saw this tonight too, interesting premise, James Wan really knows how to create and move images and sounds to get inside your head and imagination, but the movies period setting isn't ever entirely convincing, and the acting from the family, esp. the Dad was pretty bland-amatuer. It just unfolded with such a worn feeling, like I knew what was coming, from two scenes away, and then the climax in these movies is always when it suffers the most, the loud, raucous, exorcism/confrontation just isn't very scary, the quieter ghostly images are so much more effective. The stuff back at the Warrens was pretty scary, interesting, but that hardly went anywhere, throw in some VERY bad dialogue, something Wan has always struggled with and you have a pretty uninspired, if not offensive summer horror movie, not that many notches above minor end of summer stuff like last years 'The Possession'.

The Movie was Piff. It wasn't Scary to me because I've Watched and Witnessed a lot of Scary shyt but the Plot was Dope.

There wasn't really any Dumb Momements except for the Kids, a couple of them couldn't Act scared very well but overall I giveit a 4 out of 5. :salute:

Of course I'm a Fan of Vera because she's been Sexy to me since Running Scared & The Departed.

One thing I thought was dumb was that dude had that room full of :demonic: shyt and just had the door closed and told his daughter don't go in there. :beli:

Why wouldn't he have that shyt secured like a bank vault?
