most lawyers aint eating like that.

If you don't go to a top law school...you will need all the luck in the world to make it

You already need all the luck in the world to make it. But I don't know her life :manny:

She could be the worst lawyer ever and be making the worst decision in the world or living out her dreams.

Because there's certainly no return on that. :rudy:

Most lawyers only make 40k-60k per year. You don't make a lot of money as a lawyer unless you went to a top school and were near the top of your class. So if she went to Harvard law and was in the top 20 in her class? Oh yeah she makin that paper big time, but if she went to some unheralded state school with a mediocre class ranking? 50k it is.

:mjlol: That explains that.

28 a semester is ridiculous...like beyond comprehension. You gotta intervene breh, he's gonna burn out. :usure:

He is motivated as fukk though, all the power to him. :yeshrug:

My Unc went to Wharton and said he could get me in :mjpls:..I was like nah lemme post up in Florida with the hoes for a bit. :sas1:

Huge loss in respect for you if this is true bro, this is borderline pathetic. I hope it works for you though. Im only attracted to ambitious women though. The Wharton girls Ive met this summer are :banderas:. At the same time a 17 year old cant even really comprehend the kind of opportunities a school like that opens up in life.

Which field of study are you in?

This is true over a large data set but dont dismiss the role of regional prestige and networking. I know plenty of people who went to state law schools and are now partners making 6 figures a few times over. I know a brother that went to like U texas something I had never heard of doing big things with disney. The thing about prestigious schools is they have successful graduates because they dont let anyone in who is not already successful. And unheralded state school witj mediocre class ranking doesnt mean 50k these days, it means no job a lot of the time.

@Eric Blair he said it about 2 years into my schooling, and i was hesitant to switch gears and was uncomfortable with him "getting me in". my GPA was over a 3 but it didnt warrant UPenn. Sports Management/Business Admin/Philosophy

Oh ok, its not like the old days when legacy was one of the top admissions factors. Ive seen double legacies rejected from ivies. People getting other people in is the name of the game though. Ive actually heard an intern class at one of the investment banks be addressed by a director saying "youre either the best of the best or you know someone".

Why the triple major?

Theres no such thing as financial burdern at a school with a 7.7 billion dollar endowment. What do you want to do after college?

my parents and i wouldnt afford tuition, and i had no debt and was reluctant to take loans. no way i was getting grants or a scholarship.

i have since graduated..bachelors and got an associates after for the cheap (made most back in pay from an internship in an accounting firm)..got a 3.95 and into an honors society which opens up doors for more scholarships/grants if i go to grad or law school now. ill most likely take the LSATs this september...ive been working as a sports coach, website administration and as a writer since. im essentially open to whatever is best..in any location, including overseas. trying to keep options as open as possible..job market is bad here. IDEALLY, id try to go to into contract law or maybe catch on in a sports agency

Nice, congratulations man. The job market is bad everywhere. If you do really well on the LSAT and make t14 youve basically cashed a ticket to the upper middle class and then the upper class by 50.

I would be shook to go overseas in 2014, the world is going atlas shrugged out here :sas2:
