Yo......this is cool. Do you think they "got it"

Yeah, I've gotten a few feedbacks from professional readers and this one seemed to have the best understanding of what I was going for. the critiques are also on point though I'm not trying to turn Shadow into Killmonger, that's not really what I'm going for with his character though I agree that he needs more development. But I'm working on another draft.

Unfortunately, despite it being a nice review, the way the blacklist works, you need to get at least an 8 overall to get some industry downloads. I got a 7 in another review I got from them but I'm gonna complete a new draft before I ever get another evaluation. I'm also not trying to fall into the money trap because some people end up paying for evaluations until they get an 8 and end up wasting a lot of cash in the process.

So I’ve been basing how many pages I have on the “print preview” selection. I realized that’s not the exact amount when it’s converted to PDF. I checked a script I converted and it’s 33 pages. (The print preview is at 28.)

I did some calculations and I think I should be at 80-85 on my movie script. I feel less stressed out about it now. :whew:

I finished the first draft of my first movie. :blessed: :mjcry:

I’m hoping it’s between 95-100 pages. Any tips on second and third drafts? I usually always go back and edit things as I write. I never really did a legit second draft writing of my scripts.

First of all congrats, you should be proud. Huge accomplishment.

Second, you’re probably feeling the “first draft high.” You think it’s incredible, and you want to send it out to everyone. Everyone goes through it. Resist the urge. Take about a week or two away from it and give yourself time to “sober up.” Then take a look at the script. You’ll be much more objective by then and willing to make changes.

This.

But not just this, read a couple of other things in this week in between. Good stuff. Stuff you know is better than yours.

That way when you re-read your first draft you'll be even more honest about what yours is lacking or missing.

I actually did get that writer’s high. Lol. But no, I’m not too high to the point I feel it’s perfect. My second and third act are probably gonna need re-working because there are things that might be repetitive. I’ve been writing for 4 years, and I know enough to :whoa:

Like I said, I always go back and read what I write. It’s either a day or week(s) later. Last time I worked on this was 6 days ago.

I know it’s not the best it can be. im probably missing some shyt movie scripts are supposed to have.
