These things are quite possibly the most comfy shoes I've ever worn and compliment my pseudo-preppy style well.

Trying to get some tips on how to update my fashion. I only have nike air tennis shoes, so this is what i usually pair with them (i prefer to be more fitted with simple garments)

Since the pandemic 90% of the shirts, ties, suits, wholecut loafers are in the back of the closet.
I keep 1 white shirt, 1 glacier blue, and 1 suit ready to go just in case, but I'm like 99% casual in 2024.
These last few months
Monday-Sunday - Late 70's/early 80's dancehall style (Aka my Dad back in the day).
Lots of military surplus with righteous accessories

If I took my time to curate my look, I could go overboard with this. Wooden rings, a little bit of gold, leather pendants, Red Gold and Green/Red Black and Green all the time and all over. It'd be like college all over again, "Yo, you got some weed bro"...
If I'm actually gonna socialize - the last really nice joint I put together was
- Fro tamed a bit, blowed out a bit.
- Shaved face for the most part
- Baby blue cashmere sweater from J. Crew
- the fuzzy kind that people want to touch
- Navy blue slacks from Dockers
- contrast in fabrics
- Crisp white sneakers
- pop of non blue to break up the blue ombre.

The thing that I've learned about dressing, style, looking good etc - it's damn hard. It's rare that I see someone in DC that's actually dressed well. Suited up or suited down, man or woman, Black or otherwise.
Maaaaan I was looking for some faded black denim and fell in love with the Orslow 107 Ivy fit in straight black. I have some other black denim i simply dont wear because I got them hemmed too high and the top block is too wide for my taste.
Had to cop these because getting Japanese denim where I'm at is hard.
Still want a white denim and black wash but I can wait now i spent too much last month

Side note but the quality of clothes has really gone down the drain. Very few 100% natural fabrics, so much polyester these days.
I get it for athletic wear and having a little bit of give, but I'm seeing some jeans with like 55% polyester. Ridiculous

People are moving more towards comfort and practicality versus actual quality.
100% breh, I guess my frustration is when brands that were known for quality start slipping as well but charge the same prices.
I was in college less than 9 years ago and I remember Banana Republic as the gold standard for chinos.
Stopped by a BR store the other day and the quality of their chinos was terrible, but the prices are still $100+.
If/when you travel to Europe the difference is even more stark. Europeans clothes are just far better made than their American counterparts of the same price.
Im noticing alot of viscose & polyamide and thing is the garments are just as expensive....quality and value has suffered alot the last 10 years.
