Cats that wear suits...

How often can you tell what brand of suit a TV/Movie character is wearing?

I can never tell.

I was reading Reddit yesterday, and some females were talking about Rachel on the Show Suits - and how unrealistic her wardrobe was for a paralegal - because they knew exactly what she was wearing and how much it cost...

I couldn't spot a Brioni over a Tom Ford to save my life.

Yeah I can't tell either.
But I remember that scene in The Wire when Bunk called out that Joseph Abboud.

Sometimes I think my style leans more boring because I don't have too many things that are branded or super patterned.

I like interesting bold colors and texture though. I'm having success adding more accessories, hats etc in my wardrobe though. Also I'm in my 40s now so I don't want to dress like I'm in my 20s and I tend to like more refined (with a little rugged) stuff, but I'm getting tired of doing TOO much understated stuff hence colors.

What do yall do to jazz things up in your wardrobe ?

So I'm not sure if this is a trend in men's style...or if it's just a grown man thing...

But I see a lot of content recommending that men dress more conservatively. Especially when they throw that whole "minimalist wardrobe" stuff in your face. And to be fair, I do think it's true that we don't need that many clothing items. Good quality basics go a long way.

Still, if everyone's out here just dressing in earth tones and basic tees and Common Projects white sneakers...that shyt gets boring and old fast.

For me, I AM a more reserved person when it comes to style. And with my skin tone, I tend to do better in earth tones and simple outfits. But I'm finding the way to get more out of things is with texture and a bit of color.

Suede shoes. Nicer sweaters. Layering is big, though I struggle to do it well.
And little things like wristwatches sometimes do elevate a look. I'm not a bracelet guy but some men pull it off well.

With color, I think people lean way too much on grays and blacks and whites.
Grays, I understand more because you can get a charcoal gray or a slate gray. And some gray clothing items will have a pattern like houndstooth, checks, or herringbone.

Textures and subtle brand details. Brioni uses more detailed materials and Tom ford looks more modern and fits more to the body(also TF has signature colors per season). Brioni is usually boxy im not gonna sit here and say I can see all differences and I’m right all the time. Irl people are rarely wearing expensive suits I had a lawyer wearing indochino suits

I think you good man. Not everyone needs to switch up their wardrobe unless it’s dated but it sounds like your style suits you well. Because the only thing I can suggest is Heidi era dior boots(well his clothes during that time in general) or avant- garde

Same here, b. I believe 95% of my wardrobe has done away with logos with THE one exception being the RL horse.
