Laverne and Greevy -
You can tell in the beginning that Greevy marrying Brandon mom has Brandon cautious. Personally I would rule dude out as being okay as Brandon put it in the cookout scene. Let's not forget that he's the same that wanted Brandon to kept his porno mag collection a secret, the same that couldn't attend Coogie Funeral. The gun situation too. Brandon being okay with him in my opinion plays into him being someone that is naive.
Rafiq -
I like the story of Rafiq as him being stoic and serious Sorta ties into Common penchant for being monotone. It creates a angle. Funny that Rafiq carries out the meaning of his name as far as the intimate details of what happened with Ronnie getting shot.
Emmett's mom and Mrs Ethel -
I thought this was dope and it goes into what I was saying about certain characters needing to be build up and needing a certain depth. We get this with the nail salon scene and learning about Emmitts mom. Ms Ethel is gangsta as hell.
Thrice & Q -
Thrice getting his entire crew to confront one man --- Q was in my eyes the definition of being a sucker. They aren't strategic as it comes to the trap game or gun trafficking, which is why Qs goons were able to slip by. Q bodying certain runners in the house adds to the mystique of him not being fukk with. We'll see what happens . IMO I see yet another situation with Q and Reg. Thrice heart not build for this and since watching this we have yet to see thrice shoot, fight or anything of that nature. It serves as polar opposite to Reg character. Reg more headfirst , while Thrice is more laid back.
Emmett -
Has to be the stupidest cat alive. Bringing your child EJ on a mission to sling shoes. I knew that was a recipe for disaster and was just waiting for the situation with the "penetrate a fraud" character happen. The thing with that is you laid in the cut and you was trying to get shoes off through word of the mouth. Which you don't know outside of a phone call. Which can attract anybody. Dumb.
Also it was dumb for them to not check the thread on the shoes. I found it odd that while Emmett was slinging retros and Curry's before, he didnt have sense enough to do this. Then again brehs it goes back to Emmett being eager for money. Arab dude IMO is going to get Emmett in deeper doo-doo. Its going to be stacked against Emmett. By the Arab cat borrowing the money and the 100 dollars Emmett still owes Q. Smdh dumb as hell.
Brandon & Sarah
To me this situation felt rush but I thought the cookout was a good way of developing the new love interest. IMO at least they could've made it where after the Jericka situation, she tries to contact t him feeling guilty or voicemail or something. It could be better leading up to the kissing situation. We also needed Hannibal in this episode. Given he put the bug in Brandon ear to pursue Sara in the first damn place. Also y'all know what I think? And I could possibly be wrong: The Mexican cat that went with Brandon to cop the block is the one that going to out him to the boss.
Ronnie, Jason's Girl and Tracey
Its goes back to what Ethel was saying in regards to Tracey being no good and vindicative with Tracey not allowing Jason to see his baby moms. Crazy. Also we see glimpses of Ronnie with the drinking. The Older English scene before encountering Rafiq makes me think this.
We needed more of Jake , Kevin and Andreas Cousin this episode.

I fukk with the soundtrack, the show is OK, saw it got picked up for a second season, so I decided to give it a watch.
Just a few thoughts.
They shouldn't of killed off Coogie so quickly, they could of done something with him and Emmett, both being young entrepreneurs. Yeah yeah, the hood is the hood, anyone can get it, but they should of utilized the kid more, he was an interesting character for the screen time he had.
Ronnie, apart from a being drunk ex-con, who looks after his grandma, what is his history? Why was he locked up?
Q's mystic is interesting, but shyt, we don't even have an rumours/whispers about his G, apart from we've been told he is trouble. Why did he move to Cuba? Retirement? Was he hiding, waiting for heat to die down. Also they made it pretty obvious that he is Jason's father.
6 eps in and still not a single reason to why Jason was shot? I mean c'mon, all we got regarding him, he got a girl knocked up and didn't want to play ball anymore, that's it? He wasn't hanging with people he shouldn't be? Was he trying to transition into drug dealing? Did he cross words with someone? I guess it will be Reg, who we find out going is the one who shot him.
Jake, Kevin and Papa are cool. The kids all on their mobiles at the party was jokes. Jake is going to catch a body, just depends if it is accidental or intentional. Kevin is a good kid, remind me of a mini version of Brandon. I think him shooting Ronnie was very out of character. The fight was done, but he pulled the strap out anyway, there was nothing for him to be scared.
Brandon, apart from his cousin, he don't have any friends, he grew up with from the hood? Someone as hard working and stand up as him, must be someone who other people would have in their circle, or did he shunt away from them, because of p*ssy?

He was scared he would lose Brandon as a friend. He felt guilty for setting him up and wanted to make it right in the heat of the moment. Plus Ronnie grabbed his shoulder I woulda bucked at him too.
