I have no problem with someone on the cusp of being main event level being given a chance with the belt, back in the day when you had less content and the guy holding the secondary championship was treated like he could legit headline you could have a world champion that appeared on special occasions, but in this era they are in a situation where they can't use guys from the past as bandaids forever they gotta make some guys legit and if you take cats that have gained some momentum and use the belt to try to bring them to that next level I see nothing wrong with that.

kevin owens has more potential to be a star than most guys on the current roster.
but i'm sorry, call me old school, call me a mark, call me whatever you want... i think he's too small to be the face of the company. at best i think he can reach cm punk type levels, which is nothing to sneeze at, but lets be honest punk never made it to the level of john cena or brock lesnar. i could say either of those two names in a crowd of casual people and assume they know who i'm talking about, i never felt that way about punk.
now i'm not saying size is everything, but shyt with the amount of charisma cm punk has imagine if he really were the size of john cena. he might have been an undeniable star.

Our point is that Brock cant draw from the farm. I had intrigue when he won the title because at first I thought that WWE procured more dates from Brock. Nope. Then I thought, hey, maybe they have a really good storyline that will follow Brock going away with the belt. Seth has the briefcase, he can try to go get Brock. Dolph has the IC title, the roster can zero in on him now. Hey, in UFC and in Boxing when the champion is in absentia, you name an interim champ and have a really big blowoff match....nope. They had Rollins feud with Cena for months and most weeks did not mention Brock or the belt. Now thats making the title meaningless.
