No need to gut the roster for Love, that would also add another max contract player to the payroll and give up a young talent with tremendous upside that will be playing for peanuts for the next 3 years.

Its way to many good forwards that will be free agents next summer that could be added to the Cavs roster.

This right here is where I'm at hell yeah I would want Love but I don't want to find up so many players for him. Is it possible to do something ever
Where we move Wiggins, Waiters, Bennett and picks but bring back a young big?

It trade one of our young players.for a big

They should just wait til closer to the deadline and see if Minny gets desperate. The Cavs are favorites in the east right now and shouldn't pay a premium price to get Love before its time.

I think the bulls are the favorites in the east

Rose-Butler-That white rookie- Gasol- Noah is better then Lebron, Kyrie and scrubs

A lot of hope is being placed in Rose getting back to being the player he was. The Bulls will be tough but the Cavs roster is being slept on.

Kyrie
Wiggins
Bron
Thompson
Varejao

With Waiters, Bennett, Jesus and a rim protector/rebounder off the bench? I'm giving it to the team with Lebron over the team with Rose.

My opinion: Defense is infectious, defense is built & thankfully, Blatt has a system for that.

With that being said, Kevin Love is 25 years of age & is as close to touching his prime as can be. The Cavs have a window now. I am not saying Wiggins wouldn't help tremendously on the defensive end & possibly be a superstar. You're betting on a sure thing vs. a project & Lebron James came to win here now.

That's my opinion & truth be told, my opinion means shyt. If LeBron wants Love by any cost,
Wiggins will be dealt. That's the only thing that
matters.
The pressure of "win now" makes teams make short sighted decisions.

By adding Kevin Love they would be thinning out their roster of quality players (waiters is a talent, and Bennet looks to be improving) and future picks.

As a Heat fan I just saw first hand what having a thin bench of Vet Min contract players can do to you when you run into a deep team (IE. San Antonio).

Love also adds way more salary and less wiggle room to sign other quality players after they have given up said talent and picks.

Why not just wait til Love is a free agent and get him without giving up so much? And if he doesn't want to come they could target Lamarcus Aldridge (who's game I like better than love), or Andre Drummons, or Al Jefferson, or even Roy Hibbert. Who I Believe will all be free next summer.

Lastly, the Cavs FO can't be looked at in the future as the team that gave up Wiggens if he becomes even half way as good as some people think he can. That will be one more black eye the Cavs management would have to carry on forever.

In the sky
I want to see how this Dwight Powell dude plays for them. He could end up being the forward they are looking for. He can run the floor pretty well and has an NBA body.

You're hoping on what Wiggins can become. We know Love is 20 & 10. You talk about future, Love is only 25 years old, Kyrie is only 22. That's your future when LeBron begins to slow down, which I think he can play at a high level for close to 10 years. The cap is moving up & you still have young talent in Tristan Thompson, Dellavedova & Joe Harris. You're still developing players while getting double to triple on your return for now as much as looking towards the future.

You obviously don't start with Wiggins on the offer sheet but if they don't cave, then you have to make the move, imo.

They wouldn't have a center or SG, two positions that get premium money on the free agency market, how would they refill those positions?

If no 3rd team is involved trading for Love means they most likely lose both Waiters and Wiggins, in addition to Bennett and a pick, that is highway robbery.

I assume a 3rd team would be involved but let's say there isn't. Joe Harris can play 2 or 3 since we're talking about developmental players. < I think he's Mike Miller. Who's going to play the 5 if we keep those players? Bennett?

Edit: Also, that trade bait with Brendan Haywood's contract structure only helps us address another need after this season.

Joe Harris is a rookie, and just cause you think he's Mike Miller doesn't mean he is.

If you keep them, you'll have around $8 million in caproom at the end of next season, signing someone like Asik, Robin Lopez and with some small moves (moving Waiters OR Thompson) you'd have the room to go after DeAndre Jordan or Marc Gasol. Lets say Anthony Bennett can give you 13/8 this year, and Wiggins chips in around 15/5, then you sign Marc Gasol in the offseason....is Love better than that?

A Lebron led team has always been able to get by the Bulls head to head. One Gasol addition and a shaky Rose isn't gonna change that. The Cavs aren't done filling out the roster with role players yet.

If they can do this & if they can do that. You're telling me Joe Harris is a rookie then responding w/ let's say AB (basically still a rookie) & Wiggins (rookie) can do. And like I said w/ the trade chip in Brendan Haywood's contract we can address a need with that come next season. I understand your argument, I just don't agree with it.
