I still think they could've kept Wiggins and eventually got love
Nah.
Someone like Boston could've easily been able to trump an offer from Cleveland excluding Wigg

Not without love signing an extension. I believe he really wanted to play with Bron and would've came via free agency. Ainge would've demanded a contract extension.Nah.

I woulda bit and gave up Thompson Waiters still had some decent value at the time. And some picks. Even though others could've offered a bit more everyone thought love would've just came in the off season anyway and would've been scared off Unless a team was willing to risk losing him.Idk man, what would the Cavs have been able to offer without Wiggins?
Waiters, Bennett and some late 1sts? Not that hard for someone else to top it

If Bron vetoed it then I woulda waited till free agency or got one of the pfs someone mentioned on the 1st two pages.Maybe you would've, but I don't think Bron would have
Waiters and some picks were able to fetch JR Smith & Shumpert, two guys who at the time were playing lackluster ball for one of the worst teams in the league
If Love stayed in Minnesota and continued putting up numbers, his value wouldn't have been anywhere close to fetch a star in a package built around him

Fate is cruel, had the Warriors started their run 1 year sooner the Cavs probably keep Wiggins, because having a rangy 6'8" wing player like that would be more valuable than Love. The direction the league is moving in would tell you to keep Wiggins, but they didn't see the Warriors coming, nobody did to be honest.
I can only assume this is a Lebron move because I can't think of any GM who would trade rookie Wiggins for Kevin Love...
Then again...I think Love is the ultimate empty stats guy and also a sneaky "i get scared of the big moment and find a way to get hurt so i don't have to play" guy...
It was a LeBron move, you would have thought he learned his lesson with Antwan Jamison and how pitiful he looked in the playoffs. There was a story that Wiggins would be a Cav had he signed with Rich Paul, I don't know how valid that is but if true.
LeBron clearly wants to always be paired with a floor spacing 4 or 5.
When Love was in Minnesota everyone thought he was the most persecuted player in the league whose GM didn't understand his worth.I can only assume this is a Lebron move because I can't think of any GM who would trade rookie Wiggins for Kevin Love...

That's pure hindsight. At the time a ton of people said it was a great move. And lets be real: the ONLY reason people don't still think that way is because of the Warriors. They got so good so quickly and with a style that all the sudden made the 4 an almost extinct position overnight. to play with the Warriors your bigs either have to be good rim protectors or able to switch on P&Rs like those OKC bigs. Against any other team Love can at least survive defensively. Plus its an odd fit because he's best in the high post/elbow where Bron is also best at so his best attributes aren't being used. It was a justifiable move at the time. Even as a Wolves fan I didn't know if Wiggins would be a potential star or a MKG.
How is it hindsight though? 169 people voted against trading Wiggins to 119 for trading him, thecoli itself was smart enough to know this trade wasn't that great of an idea, the smart play was to realize they weren't going to win a title last season and build organically. Or at the very least see what Wiggins looks like next to LeBron before you trade him, it's one of the big "what ifs" now.
