I was just about to post this :comeatmebro:

My friends and I are hosting a reading/cocktail event this weekend to discuss this and come up with ways to be proactive about this.

Hey breh can you let us know how that event goes?

I wish I could find events like that to go to. :to:

Great article.

Its great because he actually isnt asking for reparations and does not say what reparations actually is but is instead saying it needs to be talked about citing great examples of government sponsored injustice to black people.

Brilliant article and I hope it becomes a conversation starter but knows it wont.

Just read the article, and I am going to read it again.

- Coates made a mistake by entitling it 'The Case for Reparations'. The people who need to be made aware of EVERYTHING in that article, are not going to because they're going to look at that title and not click on it.
- If Conyers has been doing the same thing for 25 years and not getting anywhere, then he needs to change his tactic so that he's not doing the same thing for another 25 years and not getting anywhere.

Since many of the people affected by what's in that article are still alive, and there's a hell of a lot of shyt in that article which needs to be addressed, it's not really reparations.
he titled it for exactly what it is
it's time the world moved on towards self-actualization without "these people" you are thinking of
but in reality EVERYONE needs to read this article
plenty of black people who are aware of white supremacy need to read this article because the devil is in the details

I wouldn't accept reparations even if they were given. I didn't work a single one of those days . How am I going to take someone elses unpaid wages? :ehh:
you also don't understand the point of the article, nor the plight and blight that black people face TODAY as a direct result of their past here in America
