I think that's the beauty of a rematch and someone who thinks they are the true champ and best there is. Lets see if by sheer will Ronda can overcome this and win, or if she will lose and never be spoken of again.

Remember when Rich Franklin was the king at MW, no1 could beat em and then Anderson came and made him look like a lil kid nobody in the ring, Rich got a rematch and same thing looked like a nobody, but still Rich was able to beat up on other MWsfor a while, then became gate keeper status, but styles make fights as you said and he had no answer for Anderson and that muay thai clinch in the ring.

A lot of people wouldn't know who Rich Franklin is. I don't come in here much and don't know how dedicated people in here (not making any accusations) but the new MMA fans who have come along since Lesnar or Rousey don't know shyt about some of the great fighters from even 5-10 years ago

MMA brehs any chance Ron takes the rematch?

It is painfully apparent she has no chance at beating Holly...She's an awful matchup for Ron because of her movement and size combined with her far superior striking ability...I think Dana wants to milk his cow more by matching her up with some more handpicked fitness models to beat on and pray Holly loses to Tate so they can avoid the rematch...

Dana said they're going to do a rematch. Too much $ to pass up.

I feel you breh...

I respectfully disagree my dude, Ron isn't world class in anything IMO...Like someone else said earlier, she has been beating these fitness models through brute strength similar to Lesnars UFC run...She was a bronze medalist in the only discipline she's above average in...

Unless Ron learns overnight how cut off the ring and how to not use her face to block punches I cannot see her winning a rematch Holly...Holly is simply too swift on her feet and uses her size very well boxing outside...In other words Ron isn't going to be able to close distance trying to bum rush Holly...She has no chance standing up with Holly and Ron's wrestling shoot technique is as garbage as her boxing technique...

Bronze at the olympics is world class. There's plenty of Judo players, wrestlers and champs in other martial arts who can't convert their skills from one discipline into MMA. The game is a lot different now than it was 10-15 years ago when you still had those pure style match ups. Ronda will never be able to step up her striking game enough to hang with Holly but she can work a shytload on things like closing the gap, proper defence, cutting the cage/ring like you and others have said. And this time maybe she won't be so up herself and think she can breeze through whoever is in front of her.

If Dana didn't do a rematch it he would be a complete and utter fool and Ronda would lose all respect and future marketability.

Wait 4 months do a rematch, in that time the marketing dept starts to go to work on holly, and start the hype train. Build what personal or angle they gonna use to market her, like the legend killer or whatever. If holly wins uve just established your next start and already ppl will be hyping up holly with her boxing and great tds vs cyborg. Instantly as well u don't need to go find ne new competition cous u got miesha and all the other ran ins holly cn now fight and you can market. As with Ronda she was starting to run out of viable options to fight.

This is the beauty of mma and the ufc, there's always some1 who has next and is hungry and waiting for that shot. And there's always a marketing angle to be played.

The conditioning and skillsets for grappling are too far apart considering Ronda is getting close to 30 years old which isn't anything for a civilian, but for a combat athlete, it is very disconcerting. From what we've witnessed with her hands, she'll never match anyone on exchanges unless some miracle happens through very rigorous boxing camps, sparring, and conditioning. The next person she faces will know how to stop her on the feet, avoid the takedowns, and stuff the armbar (which you can do by relaxing your arm, keeping good posture, and simply pull the arm out).

Most importantly, Ronda didn't look like she was in fighting shape and she seemed like she rolled out of bed and strolled to the Octagon, the other matches she seemed very focused on putting in the work...So being a Rockstar does take a lot of energy.

I'm not gonna lie when I got the news that Ronda lost this morning it felt good. All the hype, random people really buying into it. Ronda acting like a spoiled brat 24/7, to see her get knocked out was rewarding. Hopefully this loss humbled her. I will say she has no chance of beating Holm. People say she needs to fight smarter but she doesn't have enough time and I don't think the drive to learn what she'd have to learn to beat Holm.

The only problem with Holly is that she's not as "pretty" as Ronda but marketing her as a fighter and a champ killer is easy and people will eat it up because they love Ronda so much. If Ronda loses again then she will retire. She was talking all about taking time off after this fight anyway but she will want the rematch as much as anybody. Whether they make it an immediate rematch is another thing. Ronda might want some time off to heal/rest.

Yup, the timing of the rematch is what I'm curious about. As it will show to me what or WHO Ronda truly is.

If she takes 2 months off and does TV or movies then ok, she jus tryin 2 milk money b4 she retires, bun her she ain't worth watching again for me.

But she takes a cpl wks off let her body heals n then starts training hard, gets sum coaches and hopefully cut down on the media appearances. Then ok, we got sum1 who truly wants to be the champ and willing 2 do the work and put forth the effort necessary to do it.

Most times when u see Champs get beat n don't come back, it's not cous they washed up, but more of the hungry is gone, they comfortable now not puttin da same effort into the craft as they use 2. I luv Mayweather for this, dude was a machine when he came to puttin in dat work.
