She's an Olympic medalist fighting in the most shallow division in all of combat sports. The women's 135 class makes boxing's middleweight class look elite.

Ronda doesn't have any kind of footwork. She has never had to chase down anyone with a plan in her life.

The boxing > or < mma shyt can't be used in this fight at all because Ronda clearly doesn't understand even the most general basics of MMA. Head movement, cutting people off, feints, none of it. Holly's boxing experience wasn't really the main thing on display here. Ronda was getting hit with fighting for dummies. There was no amazingly technical combination display or anything like that. Ronda got hit with basics.

Couldn't get around a lead foot, no grasp of levels, range illiterate

this was basics

and that's why the loss was so bad

This could be the case too, thing is I've seen and heard folks say things like, "Boxing's not a real martial art" or other such nonsense. Thing is, folks forget that in the right hands (no pun intended) boxing can be devastating. But yes, it was also the quality of some of the fighters she's faced as well.

Oscar gave Holms alot of credit in the little special...thats why I asked everyone Friday night.."do u have any respect for Holly and her accomplishments"? Everyone was being sarcastic and saying she wasn't some elite boxer..one dude c/s her here on Friday and the other dude who bet on her. Everyone else kept on talking about Mayweather this and Mayweather that...now she's getting credit a day late.

honestly i didnt think holm had enough pop to ko her but those repeated straight lefts in combination with her gasing really lead to to the win. the kick was just icing on the cake

Just rewatched the fight. Absolutely sensational performance

Still, it's really lame how people throw an accomplished person under the bus after they fall. Shyt happens in rap, other sports, business, everything. Shyt is lame as fukk. Ronda is not a bum just because she lost here; if she had dropped Holly with one of the shots she landed (esp. the one ~3:00 of the first round) and then submitted her, we wouldn't be having the same discussions we are today. People would be like "Ronda's standup " and probably shytting on Holm ("world-class boxer my ass ")

The fight shows that Ronda has holes in her game for sure. It showed that Holm expertly exploited those holes. Holm dominated the fight.

We'll see what happens moving forward. I think she may just retire

Never felt so hyped to see someone lose since Sonnen lost Vs Anderson.

I don't have THAT much of a problem with Ronda, but i find it hilarious that all that hype has gone down the sink. she was being built up as this unstoppable beast, any bit of UFC promo featured her, the new UFC game, she's the cover athlete, everything had her featured squarely in it.

You know now, McGregor is gonna be built up next, lets hope Aldo finishes him in a similar fashion.
