Trailer did nothing for me. Looks like a film that’s only worth a watch once, and honestly, I don’t wanna waste 3 hours and change on it. :manny:
It's not worth it at all

In a nutshell:
"I am the architect now, none of you are smarter than me"

2nd half of the movie

"Well I'm your boss and you're just a drug addict Jewish weakling"

It was literally just a dikk swinging contest between an arrogant Jewish guy and a racist American, as someone who actually likes architecture and good arthouse films I was disappointed at how mid this was.

They made it edgy by having the Jewish guy go through graphic shyt like drug addicted and getting raped randomly as hell:rudy: doing harsh scenes like that doesn't automatically make a movie good but they were obviously using his Jewishness to make it jarring for people.

Gross shock jock movie ONLY getting praised because the guy was Jewish and no one wants to be caught dead saying it's not the greatest shyt ever

These reviews on this are the most blatant "kiss the ring" articles I've seen in a minute :skip:

That’s hella exaggeratory. They’ve had hits, they’ve had misses, just like any other studio.

Nah, the "hits" are always overrated and sensationalized.

There is a real "low-class arthouse melodrama" aesthetic to all of their films. All that shyt wants to be gritty and edgy but is poorly written and has no point. Going back to American Honey and Moonlight, the Safdie Brothers stuff. shytty forced pace, trying to speed up your sense of time. It's watered down Aronofsky, it's arthouse for adolescents.

Maybe Mid90s was alright, but even that.

The Whale? Iron Claw :comeon::heh:

They definitely do have alot of low tier arthouse stuff tho, then they add in a HBO scene or two and if it's shocking enough it gets good reviews alot of times

You see it easily if you go back to OG art films alot

Exactly.

That's the problem, no sense of history or taste. I rarely post in here because of it.

Oh well.

I felt the run time yikes, while the 2nd half is the better part of the film, overall it's just an ok film.

AI being involved in this film is absolutely bullshyt and really should effect it's Oscar standing.

I just finished watching the movie

Brody gives an all time great performance. It's up there with Daniel Day Lewis in There Will Be Blood

The movie itself I'll have to reflect on it some more before I give my thoughts

Interesting, The film reminds me how I feel about TWBB, I'm not sold on the film but Brody much like DDL gives a great performance.

The cinematography is great, but other than that I got nothing out of it. Also with Brody it's like....yeah, your acting is great, but I've already seen The Pianist.
