Shawn v Bret v Austin was one of the best feuds in the Wrestling history.
Couple this with NWO vs Sting and I truly believe 97 was creatively one of the best years in the business.
I definitely agree. Attitude Era was great but the wrestling was watered down for the sake of drama and storylines. 97 right before the Era started was a nice balance.

One of the GOAT turns, certainly. It's one of those angles where you can look back and see years of shyt building to it unknowingly (as in, Vince didn't even realize it, but everything lines up), like Hogan and Lex stealing his shine in 1993, HBK's dikkery in general and specifically the Iron Man match going into overtime that Bret didn't agree to, Vince letting Austin shyt on Bret on his TV for months in an attempt to let Bret know WWE would move on without them if they had to, the Diesel/Taker pushes, the push to make the TV show edgier to compete with WCW, and general lack of respect shown to Bret for years on and off screen.

It finally culminated with the most logical and correct heel turn since Macho turned on Hogan for hotdogging and having lustful eyes. Everything Bret said was true.

1. Steve Austin was a scum bag piece of shyt, and the American public were scum bags for supporting him
2. Vince McMahon sold out the principles of his company (and Bret's company) for money
3. Vince McMahon had disrespected Bret for years
4. Canada takes care of the old and the sick. Canada has gun control. People don't shoot each other on the street. Canada isn't riddled with racial prejudice.

"Thank you for still letting me be your hero." :mjcry::salute:

97 wasn't the best year. The Undertaker/Sid stuff wasn't that good....Shawn Michaels in general was a huge irritation to making things shape up in the WWF in general..Austin was hot and Bret had a lot of heat after WM 13 and the money promo the night after put it over big.

"You know why they call u stone cold because your stones are so cold your stones are so cold u don't have the guts to come out here"

:heh: that line was kind of corny, but Bret wasn't gonna let Austin overtalking him stop him from getting it in

Sid underrated "I don't know shyt" when he comes back down the ramp classic Sid

"i don't know shyt, crybaby!" :mjlol:

bret in the ring, then sid comes out, then taker and austin, in michaels for no got damn reason at all looking confused

Your opinion in null and void because you admitted you didn't even watch your hero grow because you were watching wcw in 97, now go away.
