I knew it was Nas just hearing the flow before he said "nasty" and being from Queensbridge. The Nas part was the illest
I know I'm being very picky and maybe there is nothing they can do about it but why is everything so "new" looking
from the clothes, to the cars, to the apartments everything is so fresh so clean
even the hood looks like a great place to live in
it should be looking like NY Undercover
nikka was like keep at it You got a nice flow.Lol @ curving Nas
I believe there's a way they could emulate this better even if it's just the lense they use to shoot it. Even Empire toned down their colors from the 1st/2nd season to the 3rd. The cars they using are mint condition classics from the 90s. I'm sure they could go to any used car lot and find some old Regals, Jeeps, Pathfinders, etc that look a little beat up. Also, I have to believe that in NYC there are places that still look like they did in the 90s. At the end of the episode, they showed a train going by one of the projects and the train was brand new, no grafiti, anything. Now, I'm sure this would cost more money that they don't want to spend which is why The Getdown makes the 70s look closer to reality back then.Yeah its hard to get that vibe anymore in most places you'd film now breh.
Yeah them lenses and to film with actual film is more expensive. Then to take it that far with old cars would be costly.I believe there's a way they could emulate this better even if it's just the lense they use to shoot it. You're asking a lot for a low end cable tv series. If this were HBO or Netflix, I'd expect that type of money to be spent since they'd get the ROI. But it's vh1...I believe there's a way they could emulate this better even if it's just the lense they use to shoot it. Even Empire toned down their colors from the 1st/2nd season to the 3rd.
