VH1’s Monday night juggernaut “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” returned for season six to a whopping 2.36 rating with P18-49, up 17% from the season five premiere. Monday night’s debut was the #1 cable series of the day with P18-49 and P18-34 and the #1 most social show in all of television. Including encores, 5.2 million total viewers tuned-in to see the return of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”

Additionally, the network’s new buzzy series “The Breaks” premiered to a season high in its third episode with a 1.01 rating P18-49, up +20% from season to date.

VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” is executive produced by Mona Scott-Young and Stephanie R. Gayle for Monami Entertainment with Toby Barraud, Stefan Springman, Mala Chapple, David DiGangi, Lashan Browning and Donna Edge-Rachell for Eastern TV. Nina L. Diaz, Liz Fine and Vivian Gomez are executive producers for VH1.

“The Breaks” is a gritty, authentic take on the origins of hip hop through the journey of three young friends exploring the industry in 1990 New York City. The show is inspired by Dan Charnas’ critically acclaimed book “The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop.” The series stars Afton Williamson, Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, Antoine Harris, David Call, Evan Handler, Melonie Diaz, Sinqua Walls and Ali Ahn. The recurring characters include Teyana Taylor, Tip “T.I.” Harris, and Gloria Reuben.

Seith Mann, Dan Charnas, John J. Strauss, Bill Flanagan and Darren Goldberg are executive producers on “The Breaks.” Maggie Malina, Chris McCarthy and Amy Doyle serve as executive producers for VH1.

I like the fact they potentially set up DeeVee with an arc to go back and win the battle at the New Music Seminar :jbhmm:

Caught some Nas vibes off the first kid that rhymed for Barry. The shock 'knocking MC's out like Mike Tyson did Givens' bar, The "Rhyme after rhyme, I'm flowing without a flaw/ and keep it going andgoing without a pause" is the same flow as 'The President's Wife' line from Live At The BBQ (No Rhyme King:dame:) and the QB shoutout. :ohhh: -

I also liked the fact they brought back the militant MC from the battle in the pilot for the audition too. Little things like that give the sense that a real 'scene' exists in the show.
