Oh - obviously. We're only in the second episode, now but I'm pretty sure it will be a major point for the show. Like the first time we see Ahm smile or cry, because right now the only emotion he's shown is

There was less forward motion then last week, but it was still cool to me.

They didn't handle the Nicki thing all that well. I'm guessing she broke up with him, but it feels like they rushed to get to that point.

Ahm's arc this week, is that he's going to have to learn to trust DeeVee, maybe? When he was looking for an old record, I thought he would chop it up to use for the hook on their new joint since Ahm said "I ain't singin ".

Also with the way they were talking about buying and selling masters at the card game, there could be a sample clearance issue coming, if they follow through into ownership and rights. I could be wrong though

Yeah I liked it because I liked the characters but it wasn't a good episode. It was exactly like you said no forward momentum. In my review I said it was doing the running man

No damn clue. Like there's some setup with her possibly eclipsing Barry but the stuff with her and David is strange.

nah, there's been zero buzz. plus it's viacom, shoulda been commercials on BET and Comedy Channel...there was no social push, no trailers. they kinda just popped up at the last minute like "oh yea, the breaks is here on the 20th "

It's a lot of content on their site and they hit the big outlets with interviews and early reviews too

man, i didn't see or hear anything in the month leading up to this...maybe they did do stuff, but i feel like there was way more hype and promo for things like the get down and empire...even the NE movie. this show felt like it came outta no where, like none of my friends nor my brother know about this.

The highlight of this episode to me was Frankie Crocker coming out of nowhere & being on stage at an radio station event that wasn't his but making it seem like he was responsible for the event..That's exactly how it happened in the book so i thought that was dope

Also Ahm being intrigued by the dude playing drums on the buckets let's me know he's thinking about distancing himself from the street shyt slowly but surely

I don't like Nicki's character, she is a sneaky motherfukker yo Always sneaking and scamming to get to the top.

As fine as she is I hate that. Plus her and white boy are breaking up apart it seems.
