Went in blind. Had no idea about plot or actors or anything about the movie. Saw black people and immediately bought the ticket.


It was okay as far as movies go. I didn't realize it was a Nigerian movie until halfway through the film when I noticed the main character is the only one with an American accent. :pachaha:



I like the idea of an all black city (except Romans). It's an interesting idea.


My only issue with the movie is the writing. When the main character tries to speak from his heart or tries to express his views on morality or faith; it seems disingenuous. It doesn't quite connect. Maybe it's an issue with the director?

I think I heard Lakeith Stanfield insists on not seeing the script until right before shooting the scene. Feels it lets him express genuine surprise.
