I don’t have time for articles that continue to frame this as something that only happens to black women. Her discussion of television missed an opportunity to talk about the way biracial children, are favored over black children, including boys.
They dont even look alike, they really did not want a dark or brown skin little boy on TV unless they’re playing a little hoodlum .

Colorism is even worse with our children. Those advertisements with “children of all races” never have black boys and girls. They’re always biracial, very pale.
And this has been going on since the 1990s. If you look at old ads from the 70s or 80s black children were actually black.
That said, it affects women more. Look at those “black families” in commercials. Black father and son, biracial mother and/or daughter.
Naw, these commercials will have a black father and the wife and kids will all be biracial; including the boys. they are so scarded of black boys A lot of times they will leave the boy out completly and the family wont even have a son. This happens to black men as well and to black boys just as much.
But the Blavity/ Root crowd has done a good job of erasing our experiences so they can continue framing it as something black men do to black women.
Then you guys need to talk about it.Naw, these commercials will have a black father and the wife and kids will all be biracial; including the boys. they are so scarded of black boys A lot of times they will leave the boy out completly and the family wont even have a son. They’re not erasing your experience. The overwhelming majority of “black” actresses cast in major black roles are almost always biracial now. That is simply not the case for black actors.
Can I get some context on this?I don’t have time for articles that continue to frame this as something that only happens to black women. Her discussion of television missed an opportunity to talk about the way biracial children, are favored over black children, including boys.
