The Biracial Aesthetic: Colorism and Hollywood.

Y’all need to stop conflating light skin with biracial (or as some of you keep saying “exotical”). I don’t see many, if any, regular light skin African American women getting roles like that either...I do not see myself in biracial women even if we share the same color, we very often have different characteristics from hair texture to lips noses etc...stop creating a collective catch all

It is when the colorism happening in Hollywood is specifically that where the aesthetics of biracial women is what’s being desired in roles, what makes them more appealing to “all” audiences. I just gave you a list of 10+ biracial under 40 actresses getting top tier roles, can you give me a list of 5 under 40 light skin “full black” actresses being cast heavily right now?

It’s creeping, it will hit men full fledged when the offspring of white/black male athletes/entertainers will intermarry with other mixed race people exclusively or just white and cut out black men particularly dark skinned from dating pool and it trickles down to society.

Now that I think about it, mixed race people are often shamed for being colourist when they want someone who look like themselves by the same people who claim they don’t see color when they are not part of their dating pool.

How many threads have there been in here accusing mixed race women of being racist when they are not interested in black men. I think we both guys here are full of doodoo.
