The bias towards hiring offensive coordinators as HC says everything about the NFL

Wait.... so since there is now one more offensive minded Head Coach what exactly does it say about the NFL??

I find it funny how everyone can just comment based off of one comment without even looking it up or doing any research?

What are you responding to?
Someone said would you be happier with special teams.

Then someone quoted that and said what about harbaugh? Which you quoted and replied with the goat is a DC

Its on page one. I though you were saying harbaugh was a DC.Sorry seems like a mix up

Defense is totally phased out of the game now it's easy to see why this is happening

Really no reason to hire a defensive genius when it's nearly impossible to have a dominant defense in today's game and even the best defenses are bend but don't break

How is defense phased out when almost every team left has a good to great defense.

Honestly, it's more about the mindset you have to be in order to coach that side of the ball. Defensive coaches are more apt to be flexible and adapt to circumstances. All defensive coaches have to understand offense to coach defense. Offensive coaches lock into their system and their philosophies so their view of the game is more myopic.
this ist he realist post in this thread.

offensive coaches are way too fixed in their philosophies and that limits them from best utilizing their personnel. Contrast that with defensive coaches who change set ups several times during a game.

I also hate the words imaginative and creative only being used for offensive coaches.

By today's standards but none of those defenses are shutting anyone down

If the teams left shows anything it's that you can't win without a very good qb

Seattle's defense is still very, very good. There isnt a defense that existed that didnt at some point give up points and yards. Pittsburgh's offense at full strength this year would have been unstoppable in any era.

People need to check the coaches who've won Super Bowl AND College championships in the past 20 years. It's primarily former DCs who've done it. It's fukking mind boggling to me that someone hasn't hit up the Pats DC for a coaching position or the Cards DC

The Pats DC, Matt Patricia, was on the Dolphins' interview list before they landed Gase. Probably wouldn't have gone to a division rival though.

I legit think he's gonna be the Beli disciple that's really gonna set it off like Beli branched off from Parcells. He coached on offense before coming up on the defensive side. I've had the thought since Beli came at ole boy sideways on the sideline once and he basically told Beli fukk it you call the D then and Beli gave him the :whoa:

I can't remember what game it was, but right then I was like Beli respects his whole setup. We may not be posting on here when it happens, but when it does the whole league is gonna be mad they ain't hire that cat.

Seahawks defense can be thrown on this year. It's not the same defense

Actually even with the shift towards offensive Coordinators, it tends to be an almost even split between offenseive and defensive guys.
