doesn't address the macro issues

:manny:

Taxes and other costs costs go up for the landlord while the rent stays artificially low... it just doesn't work with private ownership.

If they want to try that charade with public buildings go for it but you're probably going to end up with a NYCHA situation.
also leads to evictions prior or after a sale...people think they're entitled to rents based on the cost of owning the building that was purchased for $70k in 1980 when i'm buying it for $700k in 2019 :what:

nah, either pay up or GTFOH :camby:

you know when it comes to small landlords, this does nothing but make housing more expensive. instead of charging $2000 for a two bedroom to find flexible tenants (i give you a deal if you're not expecting the amenities of a professionally managed complex) i might as well charge the top of the market $2500 since i won't be able to adjust my discount to stay anywhere near in line with the market as long as you're my tenant.
yeah, it must have been small landlords like you who were putting up that 80 million :mjlol:small landlords were the ones behind that massive lobbying effort

and i said renters, not landlords :what: i get why YOU wouldnt vote for it. your post was fukkin stupid

renters didn't vote for it idiot...(well not many of them...)

property owners big and small did...what do the big corps/lobby group who put up money against the prop have to do with who voted it down? :what:

You're really going to give the Boomers a run for the "fukk you, I got mine" generation titleholder.

Or you could explain to the renter(s) why the rent is so high. But continue the elite "do as I say because I have money" mindset. It's working wonders so far.

renters don't vote in the same number as property owners...c'mon son, we know the difference in voting re: demographics

and did you miss the part where i said there are already rent control laws in place? lol @ being scared to vote for something that already exists.

trolling only works when you actually have a semblance of an understanding of the topic

Blackstone Spends Huge to Kill California Rent Control

Much of the $65 million campaign against the state’s rent-control initiative comes from giant private equity firms and real-estate investment trusts.

in 2019? :childplease::camby:

and what's your explanation for the 80 million dollar campaign against rent control, paid for by rich landlords? how much did you donate to that effort?
yes in 2019...don't conflate long term residents of CA who rent with the transient renters who aren't attached to their local community and don't follow local initiatives/props, especially when not attached to a national election

and what does a campaign against rent control have to do with anything? there was plenty physical media/ads/on the ground campaigning in support of it...

i addressed you because your premise of renters being who voted it down is dumb...if you can't understand why, then maybe you're as dumb as your premise :ld:
