This is why it blows my mind when we have political and financial talks with guys on this site and I bring up economics' dudes bring up bootstrap arguments. Just because we are doing well and we know other brehs in our bubble doing good most black people in the US are struggling.

I am willing to bet that these income numbers apply to posters on here as well.....

This thread is why I never really bother to read or follow the political threads on the Coli much. So much delusion and ignorance.

I live on less than the lowest bracket posted in the OP. It's easy to tell who on here has no idea what poverty even is or how complex its causes are. They think it's just an economic number or status outcome or a threshold for some statistics. When you've really lived through it, it's a transformative experience that changes how you experience the world forever. That bootstrap talk is for birds and the wicked. Nobody who's ever really been through some sh*t can take that kind of talk seriously.
Seeing the social world having lived through poverty or not is like in particle physics the difference between having a particle collider to draw data from or not. People who haven't lived through it can't speak intelligently on it. Pontificating rich people don't wanna hear or accept that though.

Life is more complicated than projecting what has worked in one's own case onto others' situations.

Right now how many people you know who making say decent money( NOT TALKING ABOUT THE AVERAGE 80,90, 100k) immediately run away from the hood to live near the suburbs and is paying $2,000 plus in rent but really can’t afford it but they want that validation that they made it or coming up

Meanwhile many of us could have stayed in the hood which was more cheaper but work as a group to get rid of the trash nikkas in the community

I understand if u have the money than moved to a better place, but if u struggling and u can’t cover $1500-$2000 a month in rent dont try to escape to the burbs just to be in debt or in the red because you want to floss for people

This is what I be telling people in the city I live. We could have bought up the block and moved out the ones who don’t conform to the community we want. But the few take their money and give it right back to the white man.

It's crazy how oversaturated the field is. I been in the field for a while and when I first got into it I had maybe 10 or 15 people I was competing against but I knew somebody at the company so I had an advantage. Before I left my job we had 200+ candidates for the last round and they were paying 20% less than when I started because they named it something different. I'm with the government now and every round has a thousand applicants smh. Only about 1% make it out of each round and they hire maybe 10% of that 1%.
