Somehow I am sure these supposed struggling schools barely making ends meet are not paying their sports coaches and deans 45k a year or some other trash salary

:coffee:

They're not rollin in money like you think they are either :heh:

They are the head of a company and control everything under them. Of course they get paid. But for most of them that money comes from the school and not the team's budget.

If your argument hinges on the weakest link in the chain then you just cut off the link.

The 289th division one school not being able to pay their athletes is not a reason to not pay all athletes.

Colleges drop programs and curriculums all the time. All the time.

I have no problem with Appalachian State or whomever not having a football team if they can't properly support the athletes generating the revenues.

They just might be, and if they get more then corners are getting cut everywhere else. Look at Grambling. Corners got cut at the expense of their facilities.

They do support the students generating the revenues :yeshrug:

Even the school's with teams barely surviving give scholarship athletes free education, living, and (at least the ones I know) food.

They might not get paid but they play a sport and I'm sure their life is better than another poor student who is doing all this shyt on their own

The NCAA isn't tryna cannibalize its own product. For that, colleges would try to break away from the NCAA entirely to do that but it's easier said than done.

This has nothing to do with the topic.
There is no good argument that can be made not to pay these players.

What more do you expect these teams that can barely support themselves to do? :gucci:

It's either
  • Cut the program
  • Give the athletes free education and housing
  • Cut other programs from other students

So which is it breh? You want other students to lose their resources to give athletes money? :usure:

You want them to take all those scholarships away?:usure:

What is it you want them to do cause from a money standpoint there's literally nothing they can do that would make everyone happy INCLUDING the other students.

If you're gonna pay them, pay them all, but please believe none of that money will come from any revenues. It's gonna come from jacking up tuition even more. Just like with paying coaches. They're state employees. They just get that money from you.

You're so completely misguided here it would just be better to refer you to the massive thread I had about it than to explain why you're so wrong.

VICE: Does racial resentment fuel opposition to paying college athletes?

Then stop paying the coaches

College coaches are the top paid public employees in nearly every state in America.
