The year 3030
Someone dug up tweets from a long time ago as soon as Kevin Hart got the Oscar gig. Where was this energy before? It’s as if people wait for something really good to happen to you before they decide to get offended.

that's how it always is.

I think the frustration stems from the fact that for a group that carries the clout they apparently do, the LGBTQ community loves to dish it but can’t take it, and any little thing sets them off. Kevin Hart’s gonna be replaced by someone who probably has skeletons in his/her closet but hey, they didn’t shyt on gay people so the show must go on!

Show me a comedian that got to where he/she is without offending some segment of society and I’ll show you an unfunny comedian.

Yep this is some of the blow back.

Honestly, I think people have a right to be angry. If Jerry Seinfeld had a bunch of tweets saying he would try hard to prevent his son from ever marrying or associating with black people, I would want him to get shyt for hosting the Oscars. People seem to only call things fake outrage when it's directed at a group they don't like. When it's directed at them, they feel justified in being outspoken and critical. The LGBTQ community makes up a substantial percentage of the Hollywood community, they have a right to be side-eyeing anyone who is saying shyt about them.

I really don't have an issue with folks protesting or getting hot. My issue is that regular folks especially social media only want their pound of flesh with these famous folks then like lemmings they move to the next thing.

I said this shyt about when folks were hot about Bill O'Reilly. I was like so what yall fools gonna do get Bill fired then pat yourself on the back? Like Fox ain't gonna get another monkey to do the dirty work that bill was doing? This whole attacking the low hanging fruit and not the tree is dumb shyt. But that is what powerless folks do.

If Seinfeld said some dumb shyt it ain't his ass I want. I want the kats that sign his checks and hire his ass.

Same shyt I said about Roseanne. I was like who cares if she is fired. The pieces of shyt that hired her ass need to go. They the ones that ok the shyt and will just hire another fool with the same mind set as Roseanne.

that's how it always is.

I said a long time ago that folks literally sit on things and keep it in their back pocket for when the time is right.

I always go back to an ESPN article done locally about brandon roy. Brandon Roy played SG for the blazers in Portland and would always stand in the entrance tunnel during the singing of the national anthem.

Everyone knew this that covered the team and even the team was fine with this. But a punk ass journalist for the local ESPN decides to write a lengthy article on this. The article never picks up steam and goes away for a year or 2.

The national ESPN decides to pick up on this story again and writes a lengthy hit piece on Brandon Roy for not standing during the national anthem with a plan to even do a report on the subject. The very day the lengthy hit piece is released on ESPN.com Tiger Woods is involved in his car wreck due to his blond wife.

The article gets overlooked due to the feeding frenzy over the Tiger Woods situation and Brandon Roy is saved from potentially being the next Abdul-Rauf.

Come at a comedian for what he said 10 years ago. Yet the president is out here saying "grab her by the p*ssy"

:dead:

Only thing that could get me to watch the oscars would be for them to go back in time and have a healthy 60 year old Paul Mooney host the Oscars.

Now that would be must see tv....:lolbron:

No black comedian should accept that bull shyt anyway.

Nice plan. :skip:

Black Hollywood: "We're not getting roles and recognition!"

*hollywood bends and offers prestige hosting to one of the biggest black celebrities in the business*
*prestige hosting is declined by said black celebrity*

Hollywood: :sas1: Hey, we tried to include yall but... you didn't want it. :sas2:

those tweets were minor compared to the stupid shyt he said on Thanksgiving about native Americans.

I am all for being inclusive in comedy and not shytting on different groups, but there is a line.

I don't agree with his views at all though. I just think this is pushing the edge on comedy.

My problem is this isn’t new information. If what Kevin said was so offensive why not deal with it when he said it? This reaction would make sense if Kevin was somebody that had just blown up and had stuff from his past exposed. But he’s been a mainstream superstar for years, all of this stuff has been very public.

When Kramer went on that racist rant at the comedy club he got checked immediately, because people were legitimately pissed. This comes across as people weaponizing their outrage to remove somebody they don’t like as opposed to being truly angered over what was said.

I do think it is corny to go back looking for something to be offended about in someone's tweet history. But tweeting isn't part of his act. It's just a dumb move on his part to post like that on Twitter. He's not entitled to host the Oscar's, they need to do what is best for them not Kevin.
