Legends Never Die
OK fine.He never held it on Raw which was the flag ship show at the time. At that time the Big Gold Belt was the belt to have.

same deal at the time though they were jumping to both shows and the WWE champ was seen as the face not the WHW champ.

Seems like a reach just to keep the debate going, and that point about being the champ on Raw makes you the face of the company..no matter how many times Orton had it, he was never the face.
Hold up.......first the issue was whoever got to hold the top belt in the company (i.e. the WWE title, not the WHC).....now the issue is the wrestlers who held the belt on the main show (i.e. Raw, not Smackdown)?
Now all of a sudden, this thread got me thinking Eddie's title win was Intercontinental title status, just because he worked on Smackdown at the time
So now we need a 'full black' (i.e. not half-Samoan) WWE World Heavyweight champ on Raw, to finally shut everyone up about this?

Del Rio won the WWE title though
How i look at it, Eddie was the undisputed champion..easily the more superior title, he was the most popular guy on the roster and Smackdown was the better show...Eddie was the face of the company at that time...period
Naw I disagree. From the beginning of the split, Smackdown was killing Raw. It wasn't until 05 that Raw started taking over (when Cena was sent to Raw with the title)Raw was the more popular show at the time though.
