Also, Felicity is a character from the comics. She was even a love interest for Green Arrow in the comics. But obviously this show has given a way bigger role than she had in the comics.

Thats tme traveling Flash from the Batman v Superman movie.

And in the comics, Felicity was originally a Firestorm supporting character. She was some middle-aged computer software firm owner who ended up marrying Firestorm's dad.
The only thing that stayed the same from the comic to Arrow was the computer stuff.

I'm just waiting for them to give Felicity super powers

Or they get flash who showed up at the funeral to go back in time and thus no one dies

I wouldn't put it past the people who are running this show.

You should also read the rest of that interview. Apparently the writers didn't think they actually had to kill someone, whoever dies is basically someone they chose at the last minute
