Of course I could be wrong, but I think the problem is if we (current holders) sell our new $APE shares and institutions buy them, and then AMC holds a vote asking if holders want to convert $APE shares to $AMC shares, the institutions will undoubtedly vote YES.
Once that happens, they can hold a vote about adding more shares. WE said no to new shares last time, but if all this happens, they will possibly have enough YES votes, and then we get diluted. Dilution = No MOASS.

So basically, we can’t do anything with those APE shares. Just let them sit there.

Again, I could be wrong, but that’s what I’m piecing together. We literally don’t need any extra shares. We don’t need anything except for institutions to cover.
This is kinda just Fud tho.

If people have not sold thus far, it doesn’t make sense that they would just start selling cause there’s a different ticker symbol.

The reason this is significant is because it forces a count and will presumably expose synthetics.

From what i understand this will be similar to a stock split but will result in two different tickers instead of one cut in half.

At worst they can chose to dilute the APE side of things. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. At this point the fundamentals of the company matter more than ever. If they can cancel a significant part of the debt that can only mean good things for the AMC ticker.

But not for the SQUEEZE.

No one cares about the life of the company or the fundamentals. We’re here for the squeeze. Most ppl are dumping the stock when it rips and moving on. It’s in AA’s best interest to keep us in the play perpetually.

Yes for the “squeeze”

You need buying pressure for a squeeze. Apes are sitting and have been for years now. A positive outlook for the company brings in new buyers and extinguishes the hope from short sellers that it will go to zero. Meaning they start to cover.

This is a long game now

And many of those new buyers will be the institutions betting against us. This man isn’t doing ANYTHING that will make those of us in it for the short term happy.

Yes and no.

Short term people have been begging for a share count. This achieves that goal.

All “institutions” are not against us. Apes are tapped out right now. There’s isn’t too much more money coming from us. We need new buyers, and we also need short sellers to give up. We have seen over the last 18 months they are gonna do everything in their power to NEVER cover. Only way to force their hand is significant buying pressure AND for them to lose hope on their long term short bet. AMC getting out of debt would achieve both of those goals for us.

As the CEO of the company a squeeze is not his priority. His job is to make the company successful.

He’s also a share holder. The majority of his wealth is tied up in AMC stock so he does have incentive to make moves that will benefit investors.

Do y'all think the dividend will incentivize institutions to recall shares they lent to short sellers?
