All these missed gym days has me aggy.#Iknowtheskruggle
Breh, can you school me on an EC stack? is it 2 separate items? What combination would you recommend? And on the potassium what else would you recommend? I just did a brief search after you mentioned it, and didn't really get any clarity on the things I was reading. This is one of the reasons why EC stack is godly during a cut. No such thing as a struggle day. Energy levels stay

appreciate it !EC stack is E for Ephedrine and C for Caffeine
Some people make it an ECA stack and add Aspirin to it, but studies have not demonstrated much of an additional benefit and its definitely best for your health if you avoid taking that much aspirin daily. So stick just to EC.
Effective dose proven to work in clinical studies is 200mg Caffeine, 20mg Ephedrine. Taken 3 times per day, spaced out 4 hours between doses
Benefits:
--Main benefit is the mobilization of fat cells. Helps your body release fatty acids into the bloodstream for energy use. This helps spare lean tissue during weight loss and make a greater percentage of your weight loss come from fat. This only works if you are in a caloric deficit though, so get your diet in check.
--Side benefit is increased metabolic rate due to increased heart rate and heat dissipation. This benefit exists but isn't huge. It might help you burn a couple hundred extra calories at most. Still....it helps
--Side benefit for some is a reduced appetite. This only lasts for a few days to a week. If food control is tough for you, this will come in handy.
--Fat mobilization improves as time goes on. Although your appetite will come back and you won't "feel" the effects after a while, it remains effective and gets better at doing its job after a few weeks.
--Increased energy during workouts, improved breathing
Side Effects:
--Can cause anxiety for a few days
--Can cause elevated heart rate for a few days
--Can cause a dry/sore throat
--Can cause massive heart rate spikes when doing intense cardio.
--Makes you pee all the fukking time
--Depletes potassium stores
Where to Buy:
--Caffeine can be bought anywhere. I like Wal-Marts "Stay Awake" because it is as cheap as you can find it. 1 pill is the recommended 200mg dose, equivalent to about a cup of coffee
--Ephedrine can be bought from a pharmacy behind the counter with your drivers license. You can either get Bronkaid which is 25mg per pill (take 1 for a dose), or Primatene which is 12.5mg per pill (take 2 for a dose). I recommend the Bronkaid because it is much cheaper per dose.
When to Take:
--Take it when you wake up, then 4 hours later, then 4 hours later. I don't recommend taking your last dose within 6 hours of bedtime, it can cause sleeplessness. If you can, try and take it a half hour before a meal just so your body has time to mobilize fat stores before you take in more calories. This is not necessary, its just something to do if it works for your schedule
Battling Side Effects:
--The anxiety is only a problem if you have existing issues. I was able to get over it very quickly the first time I took it, and I never get it anymore when I start a fresh cycle
--The heart rate elevation is no big deal unless you are doing intense exercise. Don't take a dose and go do HIIT or play basketball or something. Low to moderately high intensity cardio or weight training are OK. Personally, I like to wait an hour after taking it before working out because I feel thats when it really hits me and gives me a big boost in energy.
--The sore throat is just something you have to deal with. Its not horrible and its not always there.
--You pee all the time, so make sure you drink all the time too. Stay hydrated. You should be drinking a lot of water anyway.
--For potassium, its not much of an issue unless you are restricting carbs because that makes it difficult to get your potassium in. When I have ignored my potassium intake in the past, I got some twitchy muscles/spasms. So now I drink 1 serving (8 oz) of Low Sodium V8 daily. Its only 50 calories and it has 27% of your daily potassium intake. This boost is enough to cover me

I almost never drink coffee. Even when I was drinking it daily, I was drinking less than 16 oz.How were you getting any benefit from the caffeine with as much coffee as (I perceive) you drink?
I had been experimenting with pre-work outs and just from a few months of Cafe Americanos from Starbucks they didn't have much impact.
Interesting. I am giving caffeine and stims a break for a month. Im way too high in BF to worry about EC. I likely won't ever get to that point.I almost never drink coffee. Even when I was drinking it daily, I was drinking less than 16 oz.
My only caffeine nowadays comes from 1 or 2 diet sodas and my pre-workout. And the EC stack when I am on it.
You don't need to get a 'buzz' for the EC stack to work. It is all about fat oxidization. Tolerance isn't really an issue.
If you want the buzz though for some energy, just go off caffeine for a week. Thats all it takes. You may have to taper down for a few days to prevent headaches though
Not trying to convince you, but the metabolism effect of EC isn't the main benefit. It is the lean tissue sparing. Clinical trials are always done on the obese and significantly higher LBM sparing is shownInteresting. I am giving caffeine and stims a break for a month. Im way too high in BF to worry about EC.
