Told ya'llBoth JD and Pete look tired. Very slow bats, missing everything in the strike zone. Anything hard in the zone gets fouled back or swung through. Somewhat worrying going into Atlanta.
I'm on the fukk Pete brigade. And i got no problem moving Nimmo and replacing him with Santander, depending on what Santander's asking price is.2021 to present these guys always choke. 2023 they were so lousy they didn't have the opportunity. I'm sick of fukkin' Nimmo and Pete. Lindor has an excuse at least with his back and rhetorically he seems to get it more than the other two. But we should not resign Pete and try and trade Nimmo this off season. They are a couple of chokers.
Why? So they won't do shyt in a high pressure situation again? We can choke away division and WC leads without them.Keep Nimmo, only retain Pete if he’s on a discount(2-4 yr deal w/ an AAV $30M or under)
Mets have no option but to keep Nimmo. 8 years/$162M, final year is 2030, and he's making $20.5M the rest of the way. Mets are still on the hook for $123M. He's staying put.Keep Nimmo, only retain Pete if he’s on a discount(2-4 yr deal w/ an AAV $30M or under)
You can trade Nimmo. $20.5 million isn't debilitating for any contending team for his services.Mets have no option but to keep Nimmo. 8 years/$162M, final year is 2030, and he's making $20.5M the rest of the way. Mets are still on the hook for $123M. He's staying put.
Pete is not taking a "discount", we're not the Braves. He was offered something like $150M and declined. He's hitting free agency which was his plan from the get. His numbers are good enough for him to get a bigger deal but just not with the Mets, and he's looking for 10+ years at roughly $250.
