I doubt we get both he and Pete. It's too big a risk to give both big year number contracts. I could be wrong tho. Sounds like he really likes Pete.

Market value for Pete isn't really a huge number and they have 170 million that come off the books as soon as the World Series is over.

At best, Pete is probably worth 25 to 30 a year considering his age, his position and his numbers in the regular season. I think he returns as long as Boras doesn't play games, or finds a rich sucker who just wants to blow money.

As for Soto, there's only really 4 options.

NYY, LAD, Bos and NYM.

The Yankees have a lot of money tied up in long term deals and have made noise about the Cohen tax. LA also has a ton of money in long term deals as well. Boston hasn't really spent much lately, which leaves the Mets. They have a need, they have the cash and they have the desire to spend it.

SF has an outside chance because they've been looking for stars since Judge turned them down. I can also see Philly talking a run at it, but they also have a lot of money tied up already, and I don't think their window is open anymore

I think offering Pete anything more than 4 years is gonna prove to be a mistake. I caught some red flags from him this year, and I wouldn't feel comfortable going more than 4. His bat speed seems to have slowed down a bit. Overall offensive numbers in general are down. Are those numbers gonna magically get better? I dont know.

From the Athletic.

Juan Soto and Vladdy are friends. Might get a Vladdy trade to help with the Soto deal. They did try to sign his brother to a minor league deal before.

Jim Bowen predicts 15/622 for Soto and 7/204 for Pete. 41 for Soto and 29 for Pete. Pete until age 36 sounds fair. Maybe one or 2 bad years.

I thought Soto would be 650

He's also got Burnes at 7/247, Fried at 6/174, snell at 3/105, and manea 3/68

Don’t sleep on Philly, they have one of Soto’s old Nats coaches, and the team supposedly has the money.

I'd offer Pete 4 years/130 or 140 but he probably is looking for 5 years to get paid when he's all the way washed. If someone offers that then fukk it, it's been real.

I'm down from sending some talent to Toronto, and letting Pete walk. Bring in Vlad Jr and sign Soto outright :banderas:

We’ll take Pete for the vet minimum and he can come see what’s it’s like to be with a proper organization in the Bronx.

We can even throw in an associated box of bobbleheads that may or may not include:

Catfish Hunter
Joe Pepitone
Casey Stengel

How about we keep Pete and take Soto? He doesn't deserve to be on a team full of blundering idiots.

Team overachieved while others like the Phillies shīt the bed.

That’s the real story.

Cohen can spend whatever but you’ll always play second fiddle in this city on a baseball level.

You really showed us how it's done. At least you guys won a game... I guess. Cheer up! There's always next year to shyt the bed!

Breh yall can have Boone, Verdugo, Rizzo, Chisholm, Torres and Wells for some OnlyFans pics of Mrs. Met where she barely shows anything but is fleecing simps out of their money.

Real talk. We can make the deal right now. Don’t wanna wait til winter meeting.
