Revamp the defense (corner & LB, maybe a pass rusher if we can afford it). I would move on from Orr/Pees

Add a big body, deep threat receiver . None of these small slot receivers

Build up OL

See if Ben Johnson is interested, if so, shyt can Harbaugh

We’ll be good next season

im ready to just blow it up on defense

we can get out of a couple of those contracts this offseason

we'll get 12 mill in cap space when we cut Marcus Williams and could get another 18 mill cap space by trading Marlon

thats 30 mill of cap space created by getting rid of 2 players

they can use that money to get some legit starting guards and a 3rd WR

we only have to deal with Roquons contract for 1 more year before we can move on from him

they need to get rid of all the vets on defense and start fresh

we should have more than enough cap space this year to make major moves if they start getting rid of alot of these high paid players who dont show up in big games
Get rid of Humphrey? Didn’t the entire defense have something like 3 picks all year besides him? He’s basically the only guy on this defense that forces turnovers.

his cap number is 25 mill next year

you can always find a slot CB or just move Kyle back there

he had a great year so we should be able to get a good pick for him but its time to move on

the smart move is to sell high, dont wait til he has a down year next season to get rid of him

Yeah but the defense was a train wreck until Hamilton was moved to deep safety. Before that they were 26th or worse in every meaningful category. Marlon made the all pro team. Go get another outside corner and see if they can find a linebacker who generates turnovers. Last night they had 2 drives that started past the Baltimore 30 while also having drives that started at their own 9 and their own 12. I think they were 26th this year in average starting field position. That needs to change.

Get a receiver and 2 guys on defense who can generate turnovers so they can actually get a short field for once. They had the 7th worst starting field position in the league this year last I looked. That’s the issue. 1 takeaway in their last 8 playoff games with a ton of drops and fumbles. If the defense has a strong first half for a change against a good team, maybe they don’t have to be flawless in the second half. I’m all about out of optimism for the future though :beli:

defense was ass because of the safety play

Kyle also made allpro playing the nickel the year before so it wont be any drop off getting rid of Marlon

I actually prefer Kyle in the slot so he can be around the ball more

you can always sign or draft some safeties which im sure they're gonna do even if they keep Marlon

what I think they're gonna do is sign/draft a FS,move Kyle back to the slot, and move Marlon back outside

that would be a mistake...Marlon is ass on the outside

its not worth paying him 25 mill to be a slot CB. theres a bunch of decent slots in the draft every year if wanna keep Kyle at FS

nothing personal against Marlon. I dont hate him and I think he had a great year but its time for a change on defense

we probably could finesse a 2nd round pick for him

getting a 2nd and clearing 18 mill in cap is a way better move than keeping him IMO

I get all that and it’s all valid, but they desperately need guys who create turnovers and he’s a guy who does that. The rest of the team combined for about 12 takeaways on the entire year. I’m just not on board with giving up a guy who gets his hands on the ball. Every game of the 2012 Super Bowl run saw the team force multiple turnovers and they needed every last possession even with the offense basically not turning it over at all. That’s counts for a lot.

@Mantis Toboggan M.D. and yeah the special teams was ass all year too

they need to find a legit return guy. we had bad field position all year because they kept bringing kickoffs out the endzone and not getting to the 30

half the time they got holding calls and we were starting drives inside the 10 when we couldve started at the 30 had they just let the kick go thru the endzone

then not fielding punts and letting the opponents pin our offense back consistently

throw in Justin Tucker and our special team was ass all around this season

Last I looked they had the 7th worst starting field position in the league this year. Last night they had as many possessions starting inside their own 14 yard line as beyond their own 30 yard line. You aren’t gonna win many games starting every drive deep in your own territory no matter who is under center.
