Bro our wr group is as good if not much better than the one we had in Lamar's BEST year. And our O-line is about to be legit.:dwillhuh: Plus its not even training camp yet; we can easily acquire another WR.

Yall are so gloomy in here that it's ALMOST like we didn't just have one of the best drafts in the league.

The WRs were :hhh: last year too, so that's not saying anything. Not sure how you could call it much better but okay.

And that draft was aight. They taking fukking punters like we don't have holes all over 'both sides of the ball. :snoop:

I can’t say we killed the draft cause our first 3 picks were all guys I felt were overrated

I’d be a dikk riding homer if I acted like I liked all the players just because we drafted them

We also use 2 1st round picks on low value positions which im not a fan of

IMO 1st round picks should always be used on QB,tackle, pass rusher,CB,and WR unless its a generational talent and I don’t think Hamilton or Linderbaum are generational talents

Can't argue with you there. Thanks for bringing me back to reality.

I usually don't get that down on the team until Harbaugh does something retarded or around mid season...or they lose to shytsburg.

I just reviewed all the receiving stats from Greg Roman ran offenses from 2011-2014 49ers, 2015-2016 Bills, 2017-2021 here.

With the exception of last year he's never had 2 receivers go over 1k yards on the season and Hollywood was barely over with 1008. The next highest receiving stats was Boldin in 2013 with 1179 yards and the next closest receiver was TE Vernon Davis who had 850 yards.

I'm not saying 1k receiving yards is proof of a dominant passing game as its pretty standard now to have someone get that many yards especially with a 17 game season.

My point is, Roman has not developed a passing game in 9 years as an offensive coordinator. His route concepts are average at best. I don't think it matters who they have at receiver. Roman's offensive system is designed to force the ball to the TE and one WR while everyone else runs interference or just goes through the motions. While he's OC, I don't think we'll ever see a dominant passing game where multiple wide receivers are getting involved in significant plays and atleast one has close to league leading stats:ld:. Roman's track record tells me Andrews and Bateman are going to have the most receiving stats.

Slade Bolden (reminds me of Wes Welker, Cole Beasley type). If he makes the team, he'll be used on crossing routes over the middle to keep the chains moving or convert 3rd downs. If he doesn't make the team, don't be surprised if he signs with the Bills, Pats or Bucs.
Strengths
  • Balanced, savvy route runner with top field awareness, setting up and selling routes beautifully.
  • A savvy, natural pass-catcher with reliable hands and very good focus. Snatches the ball out of the air and shows the concentration to make acrobatic catches look easy.
  • Often used on deep routes, getting separation down the sideline or over the middle on crossing routes by extending his arms rather than pure speed.
  • Has a knack for getting open and is a quarterback's best friend - passers just need to toss the ball in his area and he'll come down with it.
  • Does not have exceptional straight-line speed but takes advantage of open seams when his quarterback is on target.
  • Does a nice job locating and tracking deep passes and is a legitimate vertical threat. Willing to go up and attack the ball.
  • Has the strong hands any NFL wide receiver coach and quarterback would covet. Tracks the deep ball over either shoulder and brings in passes fluidly without breaking stride downfield.
  • Does not possess top breakaway speed, though he's rarely caught from behind.
Weaknesses
  • Has only average height and overall length. Lacks initial burst off the line of scrimmage and has more build-up speed than track wheels. Limited explosiveness and flexibility and will struggle to separate against pro defensive backs
  • Does not always use his hands to secure deep throws, allowing the ball into his pads and chest.

Bro you didn’t have to do all this I was bsing but thank you I appreciate this

All this damn posturing over some Punters. Crazy part about Stout, one of the reasons the Ravens picked him was because of his holding ability, not his ability as a punter.

Yeah...Ty'Son found his way into Harbs' doghouse and never made it out. Could already see the writing on the wall after Vegas.

That's one of my bigger issues with Harbaugh. Seems like every year he picks 1-2 guys to put in his doghouse and ruin their careers. I doubt we ever see Ty'son on anyone else's 53 man roster.

He'll probably resume his bullying of Proche in 2022. I think Ty'son had drawn most of it this past season.

I'm seeing the Ravens signing either Julio Jones or Jarvis Landry.

I'd love to see AB, but its never going to happen.

Those are the only remaining impactful WRs I can see that are FAs. Even though Julio isn't as impactful, the optimist in me thinks he might bring something to the offense. Jarvis would be dynamic in this offense and his presence as a run blocker will be felt immediately.
