Baltimore Ravens inside linebacker C.J. Mosley is certainly gaining increasing support to make the Pro Bowl in his rookie season.
MosleyESPN's John Clayton named Mosley to his midseason All-Pro team. ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. had Mosley once again atop his latest rookie rankings and called him the midseason defensive rookie of the year. NFL.com's Gil Brandt had Mosley atop his list of rookies who should make the Pro Bowl.
The fans obviously agree as well. Mosley is the second-leading vote-getter at inside linebacker in the early results of Pro Bowl balloting. He has received 71,246 votes, which trails only Carolina's Luke Kuechly (105,730).
No other Ravens players were among the top two vote-getters at the other positions.
Fans can vote on the NFL's website until Dec. 15. The Pro Bowl players will be announced on Dec. 23.
Mosley is looking to become the first Ravens rookie to lead the team in tackles since Ray Lewis in 1996. His 90 tackles rank fourth in the NFL.
"I know [what] I’m capable of," Mosley said. "The transition from Alabama to here has been so easy and great for me. I can’t take all the credit, but [it is] a great defense and great coaching staff. [I am] just doing what I have to do to make plays.”
Mosley is on pace for 144 tackles, which would be the most by a Ravens player since 2010 (when Lewis made 145 tackles).
