why the fukk are the wolves still asking about pau gasol :wtf:
Kahn's contract up after the season, Adelman is 66, & Taylor is trying to sell the team. Short-term is what's on their mind.

-Doogie.

If their idea of short-term is gonna be to blow up the whole team in 2 years, my days as a fan are gonna be numbered.

thats a shame, they had the potential to put out a really great basketball team out on the floor within a year or two

Well clearly nothing has happened yet, and the team has always been rumored for Pau for a reason, but Pek has always been the deal breaker for me.

Doogie's saying they're looking for a third team, but for as much as I respect Adelman, Pau doesn't even guarantee the team a playoff berth, let alone some deep playoff run or title which should be the goal. In 2 years, Pau's gone we won't want him back, Love's ready to opt out, Rick may or may not wanna continue on past his deal, and then that all goes toward whether Rubio even wants to extend his deal. He's the one person I could easily see passing up RFA money to be unrestricted. Fegan would force the issue.

Why are there reports that the Twolves offered Pekovic and Derrick Williams for Pau...

And, why would the Lakers turn down Bargnani/Calderon for Pau :why: .

The actual report isn't confirmed on either side. Doogie said it was D-Will and Ridnour, but that one of his sources was kinda tapdancing around whether they threw in Pek.

Put it like this: if that was all offered and LA said no, then there's nothing really to talk about. It's not like there's anything else the team could even add.

This is why there's such interest and intrigue in a 32 year old declining C.

They're also really unsure about what to do with Pek at the end of the year knowing damn well teams will throw major money at him. As I've said many times, if they legit threw in Pek, Pau would be here already.

So it sounds like they want Pau, but want to give up as little as possible to get him, and are kind of 50/50 on adding Pek into it.

I also assume the Trailblazers are looking at Pekovic like :birdman: after what you all pulled during the summer with Batum.

Pek wins regardless. He's gonna get paid. It's just a matter of who.

They want Pau, each person for different reasons (Rick views him as Vlade Divac, Kahn doesn't wanna lose his job, and Glen is yellin YOLO). They just don't know how a deal could work given his salary.

There's literally one scenario where I'd even tolerate a deal like this, and it's so complex and deals with so many if's and impossibilities that it doesn't even merit odds. The end game would be us signing Marcin Gortat in free agency, but that alone just seems hard to fathom even with a max deal.
