The league should've asked Mike between 2005-2007 to put his name on the trophy.

Too late now

You could actually look in the mirror and say this to yourself, because this information applies more to yuo than to me. I recognize Wilt's greatness. I didn't say Wilt wasn't good or was a B-rate player or wasn't a legend or wasn't dominant. I just said there were better.

But you're right about one thing. Clearly you're not changing your mind because you've already done thorough research and formed an opinion, and you're not changing my mind because I've done thorough research and I have already made up my mind.

Yah, prime Shaq was better than this... :comeon:

That aint even all of Wilt's records, those are just the ones officially recognized by the NBA - he's got dozens more records like highest FG% for a 60+ point game (over 80% on a 66 point game... and at age 33) etc... Wilt in his prime > Shaq in his prime and on paper, it does look like a Varsity vs JV comparison. Even the teams Wilt lead to championships set records - both the 67 sixers and 72 lakers were record breaking teams and the 72 Lakers still hold the winstreak record. When everything clicked for Wilt he ran train on everyone. Pick Shaq all u want but he dont have an argument over Wilt - theres nothin he did as an individual talent that Wilt didnt do better. A ring is a team accomplishment - and u gotta be at the right place at the right time to get one no matter how dominant you are.

:snoop:

You're listing achievements and what not. That'd be more relevant if they played in the same era or even close to the same era, but they didn't.

I'm talking about their actual PLAY. I'll take Shaq as a player over Wilt as a player. You're clearly a stat junkie and that's sweet but I like to watch the games and make decisions from there.

And you're talking about dominant teams, when Wilt clicked, as though Shaq didn't lead the most dominant team postseason in NBA history.

What did Shaq do better than Wilt though?

Scoring - I'd say a wash but I would lean to Wilt.
Defense - Wilt
Rebounding - Wilt
Passer - Wilt

Even though I think Kareem is the greatest basketball player ever(high school, college, NBA, fukk jordan), Wilt is easily 2nd best center if not the best. Shaq playing Mutombo and the Todd Maccoullah's of 2000, he could of been so much better, thats undeniable. Championships are a team accomplishment, most big men stats go down in the playoffs, they are feed the ball, they get ball denied, double and triple teamed, and all sorts of combination of shyt. So I dont believe you can really hold championships against Wilt, he did go to like 8 NBA Finals, he was almost there, the Celtics were just always a better team.
