Oh, we trying to put Shaq & Kareem ahead of Wilt now?
@dantheman9758 crushes the buildings again.
Who do you want on your team when it's time to win a championship? Shaq, Kareem, or Wilt?
If you're a smart GM, Wilt is third on that list (fourth if we're throwing Russell in there as well).
People always talk about Shaq not living up to expectations, but considering Wilt's talent in comparison with his opponents, he left a lot on the table as well, in terms of accomplishments.
What are we discussing team success or who's the better player!? Wilt flat out owns the NBA record book, and by a wide enough margin that most of the "next best" players are so far out of sight his mark is untouchable. That's something no other player can say.
Shaq has 4 rings, twice as many as Wilt - but that's a team accomplishment, and other players have more in this area so Shaq's not even in untouchable territory. In terms of sheer physical dominance Shaq is the closest thing to Wilt that the league has seen since Wilt retired - but Shaq never had the pull Wilt had to just blow peoples minds season in and season out by pushing the envelope to uncharted and untouchable territory. Everything Shaq did Wilt had done before but better.
All of Shaq, Wilt, and Kareem have some shortcomings in motivation and off the court antics that makes building teams with good chemistry around them something that needs to be constantly worked on and maintained so it's a wash right there. Shaq and Kareem were in the right systems at the right time that's why they have more rings - period. If your a smart GM you pick Wilt to build your franchise. He will not just represent your franchise, he will represent the league throughout his entire career. Teams in the NBA wanted Wilt on their teams when he was 50 years old - offering him contracts to play "just the playoffs" or "just homegames" to try and get him to bite. Lemme know if the league is making Shaq offers when hes 50 years old.

Both. Basketball isn't played one-on-one. Even if it was, I'm taking Shaq. There's no scenario where I'm taking prime Wilt over prime Shaq.
You're talking about Wilt has though he was eighty steps ahead of every other player who ever lived, yet he only got a pair of titles. And you can say he ran into a super talented ass Celtics squad and shyt for years, but Wilt played with super talent as well and if he was THAT much better than everyone else (and that much more motivated) then he would have won those rings. We've seen the "better player" beat out the "better team" many times throughout the history of the league.
At the end of the day it's just a personal preference. I can't hate on someone taking Wilt over Shaq or over Kareem or if someone took Hakeem or Moses Malone or Bill Russell or whoever, they're all that close. But this idea that Wilt is CLEARLY better than any of them is ridiculous. Y'all are talking like Wilt is varsity and everyone else is JV.
Ima handle this the way I handled it the past year - and just back off and fight the ignorance slowly thru my youtube channel and other important historical avenues of data like news archives. Like how the tortoise beat the hare. Ima keep uploading the films and shedding light on parts of his career people don't talk about or remember. The problem is bigger than this petty argument, Wilt's career is based on nothing but assumption to most people yourself included. One basketball reference search and you'd be amazed how many so-called experts will talk about Wilt's weak competition, "just" 2 rings, "choking", and a whol lotta of other nonsense with no context or actual research whatsoever. You already said it all in your post - "and don't tell me ..... " which means your mind is made up. Great way to learn sh*t am I rite?
Hold up we got a Jew replacing another Jew?
