i used to say stuff like that too back when i had a computer that couldn't run jack shyt and i used to play those style games on a console paying more for an inferior experience. most of us around here are gamers maybe you're not.

if you are a gamer there's no harm or damage in playing the latest multiplatform games from the comfort of your couch with an Xbox 360 controller with 60fps and maxed out graphics vs playing them with hardware from 2006 or earlier that can't match a modern PC at medium settings.

Most people who have a mac are using it for work and school and aren't thinking about gaming at all.

i don't get viruses mainly because that's due to user error. if i do have memory leaks with 16GBs of RAM i never notice. my system defrags on its own and anyway all hard drives get fragmentation its not a Windows thing.

my computer is reliable. i built it in January and its blue screened once since then. my Upgrade to Windows 8 was $14 not $20. i upgrade mt hardware because its smart to keep up with the latest tech.

when you have a Mac you're like the red headed step child of the computer world. do yall even have Bioshock Infinite out yet? what about Tomb Raider?

Everyone is ignoring the fact that I have both pc and Mac. I have a pc for gaming and my Mac for everything else. I know how to "properly" manage my pc, but fukk all that, if I was an regular dude that wasnt into tech like that I wouldn't want to do all that maintenance. I know this because I fix computers for these everyday non tech people and I think if you just do this you could have avoided that, but the thing is most dont want to do all that I know it's wrong but it's reality..

i don't even fuk with bootcamp anymore bc i only needed IE for web testing now i got virtual box running small versions of windows just holding IE 6,7,8 etc.

I'm about to build a whole new rig this winter with solid states and maybe a NVidia goon type card as well. shyt will push my wallets wig back but it will be worth it and I won't have to even think about this shyt for like the next 4-5 years save for maybe a new graphics card.

what maintenance? regular people are totally ignorant when it comes to tech. they take their computer to a guy who likely backs up all their shyt then reinstalls Windows and charges them $60-$120 for that service when if they had a dedicated OS drive they could wipe the drive and reinstall Windows in less than 30 minutes and have their computer running like it was before but faster.

if you get a virus its gonna be your fault for something you did. are there more possible viruses on Windows? yeah but they rely on user error to get them. honestly i haven't really used a Mac since the mid 90s and i don't really want to because i can do everything i want on a PC. are macs more trendy? sure but i see no need for them as everyone caters to PCs first and foremost. for the most part whatever software you want maybe you can get it on a Mac but you can definitely get it on a PC.
