what does that have to do with my question? i asked you first and you hemmed and hawed, its a pretty simple question, layout the meritocratic pyramid from your point in view in terms of race

Never hemmed and hawed, boy stop...Just wanted to make sure you weren't emotional...

And your question is a loaded question.........that will go on in circles, and quite frankly can only be corroborated by people who not only have seen the discrimination, but are objective enough to point it out.......

Which brings me back to the 10 years in Corporate America

Quote:
Race-based preference produces a population of students whose average intellectual strength varies strongly according to race. Surely this is opposite to the meritocratic ideal and highly corrosive to the atmosphere on campus. Furthermore, the evidence is strong that students of weaker ability who are admitted via preference do not close the gap during college. For these reasons, the Supreme Court would be wise to end the practice of race-based preference in college admissions

I'd like to see an empirical study that can effectively combat this:

Challenging 'The Bell Curve': College education halves black, white IQ score gap

...which used the same longitudinal data that was the basis for the Bell Curve --- the researchers at Wash and St. Louis just extended the nature of data to post-college graduation, which found that blacks cut the IQ gap in half when tested. This of course supports the idea that "race" is a merely a social concept that is psychologically and economically punishable, and can be controlled by access and environment, and not a genetically measurable idea, where somehow the six genes out of 30,000 that influence our individual appearance, also somehow also act in complete concordance with our collective intelligence and ability as well. uh, aside from the anecdotal person in charge, that kinda backs up what he was saying. "most of her employees" at a "tech company in silicon valley" are "indian/asian"

Wasn't gonna even comment on it.

Didn't think we could have a civil discussion if I took it there.

Probably should've never brought it up..

We may see how many Asians/Indians post in HL though :youngsabo:

Dude said Indians and Asians "outwork" people... I said tell that to my mom because according to her... She has had a couple employees who on paper seemed okay, but she had to eventually fire them or demote them. So the saying they "outwork" black and white workers isn't always true :manny:

I was just trying to add a different perspective to the discussion. However, we can go off of perceived stereotypes. I won't stop you there if that is what is going to keep the discussion moving...

Have you worked with them? I said that because I have, and have personally witnessed more than a few get turned down for positions in upper\middle management when they were more than qualified and experienced.

more hemming and hawing, no wonder corporate america chewed you up and spit you out

:duck:

Yall cats keep exposing yourselves and I really don't get it.

I don't wanna call it insecurity, but it almost seems like that's exactly what it is.

Its like the only thing yall got going on in life is to be right on the internet, and if someone has a different viewpoint that you don't agree with, you gotta make personal attacks, like it's actually supposed to offend the person on the other side of the keyboard.

I have... But they were Indian/Asian females if that matters. I figure any injustice they were met with in the workforce regardless of their intelligence would most likely be directly related to the fact that they were women...

One thing I am noticing more and more though is that, the American white male, while still in power, is being phased out in a lot of the tech industry. You are seeing white people from Europe(Germany and Turkey), asians, some blacks, and a lot of women, coming into ranks in different areas. It is a pretty interesting shift where people are being rewarded for their experience, hardwork, etc. It might just be a west coast thing, idk...

I'm in the south and this region may be the last to change.

It would be different if the candidates that were eventually selected had more credentials, but in the cases I have seen they did not.

The way that someone explained to me was that particular candidates were chosen for certain positions based on how well they would fit in and how likely they would succumb to office politics, whatever that means..
