When people talk cultural appropriation it isn't because someone comes and does something a black person does. We don't care if a white person raps but when they mediocre as shyt and gets praised while they find reasons to shyt on black artists that do the same thing then its a fukking problem. Or make shyt on black women wearing certain hair styles and then a white person does the shyt and then it becomes bold and brave and turns into a trend thats when we have a fukking problem.
True but what was quoted was what Lupe seemed to be alluding to

Come on man:mjlol:. that's the way at least 70% of the people that scream 'cultural appropriation' are now.

this is the camp I'm in, I don't like when black people do something it's called 'ghetto', '******ish', and 'thugish' but when a white person does it it's called 'classy' and 'groundbreaking'. I believe that is what cultural appropriation is, along with taking something another group does, claiming it doesn't belong to that group and it belongs to everyone, and then claiming it for yourself in a few decades. For example:

@brother walt There's no need to be upset, pal. If you disagree with something I've said, leave a comment in this thread explaining why you think I'm wrong.

"it's all just to resent white folks" this cac really trying to victimize himself lmao, must be sweet to be told you can't like hip-hop, I'd take that over actual racial inequality in a heartbeat.

"my people were slaves too" no, more like slave owners, you can miss me with this co-opting into Black plight.

I can kind of understand what he's saying. African American culture is heavily ingrained and influenced by so many things, we honestly can't say anything was 100% our doing with no other non-black influences.

That's why I hate using absolutes. We put too much stock in these things when they really don't push us forward much if at all.
