The logic was Chicago didn't want to burn their final timeout then run a play on 3rd Down that ends in bounds, which results in the kicking unit sprinting out rushing the attempt to beat the clock

Trying to preserve the TO was fine but once the clock hits single digits you can't let Caleb snap that ball. Flus fell asleep at the wheel like he always does late and close.

nah that’s not on Caleb. You have 2 downs, 30+ seconds left and your qb is on the ground while the team is scrambling. Call the timeout, let your players gather themselves and come up with a situational play to attempt to pit yourself in reasonable field goal position.

Two things happened.

They expected Caleb just to get everyone back and run something quick and call the TO…but Caleb isn’t Matt Stafford/Joe Flacco who been in 1000s of those situations and know what to do …which is why he was just chilling in the Shotgun for 10+ seconds .


Eberflus had a stroke or some shyt and went full idiot..once it was clear Caleb was cooked he shoulda called it .

I expect Caleb to not miss and easy TD pass for the win yet here we are.
