It's been a minute but here I go. And it's gonna be long..those the rules
Anyway, I don't go to the movies too often anymore, since I finally dropped A-List. Until I recently saw Terrifier 3, the last time I went was in early September, to see "Alien: Romulus", when I walked out because it was too boring. I only went because there wasn't nothing else showing that week but cartoons, and movies I could stream at home. Why people still pay to see these lackluster movies, I don't know.
I also found myself walking out last week on Terrifier 3, after a half hour. I don't like movies where gore overly outweighs the plot, like this movie did...I never even bothered to see Terrifier 1 or 2. I also don't like films that include children getting murdered, something that seems to be becoming the norm these days. I don't even like movies were pets get murdered. Makes you wonder what people are really getting off on these days, and why.
Anyway, again, the only reason I chose to see Terrifier 3, was because everything else showing that week was a cartoon, or already showing at home through my stream plan. This will be the last time I use that excuse to go to the movies, especially the AMC in my area, where they still have an armed guard as the first person you pass by, once you enter. And the guard either doesn't greet you, barely greet you, or look the other way. Then you go to the ticket booth...talking about doing things ass backwards. But this time I came prepared, and I looked the other way first, because that's not the proper place for a guard to be standing in the first place...they know this, and I'm tired. White locations, whether it be a theater, a grocery store, etc..., will not place armed security guards, police men, or security at all, in inappropriate spots where customers find themselves face to face with them. But locations where mostly Blacks go, will on many occasions enforce this dumb shyt. And what's even more dumb is, these theaters be just about empty
I miss when movies were better written, and it didn't take weeks or months for something interesting to come out. But that's the only time I'll be going back to the movies, especially this AMC location. They also need to do away with having all those cool bags of popcorn already sitting out for customers, instead of serving the popcorn hot and fresh like they use too. But I would take advantage of their "order online" option, and have my Large popcorn and Large drink ready at the back counter when I get there, to avoid their poor customer service at their other concession stand. But after a while, they'd also turn that into a bad experience when they could, by still not having my food ready, giving them another chance to give me poor customer service. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, and made me finally drop their A-List plan. If that's the way they treat regulars, especially single Black male regulars like myself, only trying to enjoy their retirement and freedom, then they will continue to go downhill. I warned them about those attitudes. Now when I go to that theater, I see them standing there at their counters looking bored, while more and more customers order their food online, or don't go to their theater at all. But I'm gonna end this on a different note. Even this AMC theater, which is the worst in the Atlanta metro, feels like the Jetsons, compared to the AMC's in PG County, especially Beltway Plaza, or Magic Johnson. I went to both a few years ago for the first time since I don't know when, probably years before I even moved down here to Atlanta. Their theaters are old and outdated, and the customer service is rude, especially Beltway Plaza. In fact, the whole PG is still hit or miss with the rude customer service, even in the upscale areas
