There weren't many great things about this one outside of the Chris Jericho scene, the mall scene and the bar scene. I love gore, but they somehow made it uninteresting. They leaned too heavy on "one-upping" the kills too, and that made them seem more hokey than anything else. The movie was jumping all over the place and the transition to the final act was too messy. I thought it was some kind of dream at first given how it all happened so abruptly. There were no awesome sequences like the Clown Cafe either, although the sword crafting flashback was alright. I would have liked to see more of that.
Victoria Heyes was just an awful, pointless character who added absolutely nothing to the movie in the way the little pale girl did - she was really creepy. Victoria was goofy in comparison. That glass shard scene was a bit over the top. It was disappointing that she was the co-antagonist. I didn't understand the little cousin at the end. They spent most of the movie portraying her as similar to Sienna, only for her to completely shut down when she could have done something, after Victoria was offed. Instead, she just sat there trying to wake up her mother? I could understand if they were going for the whole traum angle, but it felt so unnatural. It's like they had to make her dumb just so *that* could happen.
I was happy when that annoying podcaster got what she got, but I felt a little bad for the boyfriend.
I'm alright with supernatural horror, but come on. Sienna being some special counter to evil, and being able to heal herself? Did I miss that in the second one or was that all a new revelation?
Anyway, I loved the practical effects. They were great, even though most of the kills were mediocre.
Edit: The dinner table scene was good too. "Just pass the rice"
