Im watching the remake of Amityville Horror, i've seen it maybe twice before. As i watch it realize its really shytty. I saw the original the other night and can say it legit scared me. But this remake is just trash! It added supernatural elements is unnecessary. In the original it the supernatural element was left to the viewers own interpretation. In the remake its a lot of extra shyt, like the babysitter. :dahell: she's this hot chick prancing around like her cootchie dont bleed dressed like a lil heaux. I'm getting off the point, but the babysitter's closet scene was so extra. OMG!!! the priest isnt introduced until the last 30 min of the movie... UGH there is SO mjuch WRONG about this movie! I dont see how i ever gave it props!!! :snoop: The only thing that is right about the movie is Ryan Reynolds eyes becoming darker as he becomes more and more evil. That is all.
Scary Movie II did a better job at remaking this movie and it was a fukking parody.

That said, there are a number of shytty remakes that comes to mind as i watch this.
On that list I have :
  • Carrie (2013, starring an older Chloe Moretz )
  • Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)
  • Friday the 13th (2009)
  • Halloween(2007)
Feel free to add on. Now let's talk about these terrible scary movie remakes collectively.

To add to the shyttyness of Amityville Horror, he killed the dog. The dog was so important in the original.

As i watch more and more its coming off as more of a comedy. :heh: this dude just had a shotgun pointed at his neck. He turns around and shifts the gun to his head and roars. Literally, he roared.

This I can add on to with...
Night of the Demons (2009 film)

The 1988 version is my favorite scary flick.
It has a tighter story
the characters are actually very memorable... Roger and Sal:russ:
it's a very quotable movie
the soundtrack:banderas:
the titties :banderas: :whoa::demonic:

The 2009 remake has none of that and is fukking :trash:. Spent like 20-30 minutes outside of the house, on some irrelevant drug dealing plotline. Which they probably only did because Terminator 2 dude was in the flick. The ending is also really stupid. The ending to the 80s ver was lol but also great.

I saw the original last year for the first time. It was great horror flick. I was really surprised the black guy made it at the end movie. Also the sequels were better then that remake.

Also would like to add Fright Night remake to the list. That
Movie didn't have the comedy/suspense like the original. The remake Peter Vincent sucked along with Evil Ed.

modern day remakes are usually bad. . .they try to cater to horny little high schoolers with excessive sexually influenced scenes instead of trying to improve on the actually film. . .people like me (who enjoy horror movies) will never like them

I was about to come hate on this thread cause I fukks with most of these 2000's-present Horror Film remakes, until I saw this post.

I watched both of the original "Prom Night" & remake on the same night 2 or 3 years ago. The remake is TRASH compared to original. The Original was really good.

You know the remake is TRASH, if I'm calling it TRASH.

I've only seen one remake.........

I saw the OG version when it was first-run.......back when you actually had to have a parent or guardian with you if you were a minor.

This flick let me down on SOOOOOO many levels that I've yet to see another remake.
